Team wont make the playoffs - Deadstar
We will. However, we will get bounced in the first round. This isn't a good team at all. Our MVP is a goalie that some here feel consumed to continue to bash; power play sucks, 5 on 5 sucks and our stars can't do jack poop. Yep, trade for third line rentals is the answer. |

I thought Martin was the only dman that played well individually this game. Every other one had at least one negative play. Pouliot definitely didn't look good in the defensive zone. Special teams continuing to ruin the team's efforts. Losing on a SH goal allowed is frustrating. Fleury played well again and was let down. |

Pouliott on the ice at the end....Trade bait?
That turnover on Comeau and Pouliott was awful.
This team sucks, expect big changes next year. - sammy87
Pouliot isn't trade bait.
The only big changes come in the form of dealing one of the big three. The rest aren't truly big.

We're a lot closer to the Blue Jackets and Flyers than we are the Rangers/Caps/Islanders in play. |

Same big changes we've needed the past 4-5 years that never happen? I wouldn't count on it. Statement needs to be made now to light a fire under their asses to see who responds, and who doesn't. Then you know who to ship out. |

Can't score goals but let's keep throwing out the same lines game after game period after period. Can't make any one upset they aren't playing with their buddy. |

WHY is perron not on the first pp lw. Where is james neal when u need him. Fukin joke! - Jordy8
Because DP has to be..and he is not effin ready for the nhl..nevermind first pp duties. We dont need two d men back there. Tanger is enough. DP should never see a sniff of pp time. I dont care what his ceiling is...fact is there are better options all.over the bench than him .perron for sure and if u really need 2 d...despres and martin...hoff when he is back. DP needs more time...boy I miss maata...he was sure something special. |

Look at the roster, PH and Perron are fine complimentary players, nothing amazing from them. Kunitz will be 36 next year, Comeau is OK nothing special, 3rd line is complete garbage. I would imagine 1 of the big 3 is moved.
Pens just lost to a bad CBJ team with 5 AHL players and a backup goalie. |

what changes can be made, malkin and crosby and letang are the only players that you would get anything for and they and they have full no trade clauses. They are basically stuck and have nothing to offer for a big return |

As I said, if you truly want to make a BIG change, you trade one of three players.
You don't have to tell me we lost to Columbus' AHL team. I have seen these problems long ago and its deeper than Bennett and Sutter and the fourth line. This is why I saw unload your guys that won't be back; recoup some picks and prospects and get ready for next year. Even if this team makes the play-offs, it will be sent packing in the first round. You won't be able to fix these problems at the trade deadline. |

Cream puff looks like the number one star to me. - ImScore71
He played well but guess what - he didn't play as well as Columbus' second string goalie. Hard to make the loser the number one star so I guess he would have to settle for the 3rd star - at home - against a non-playoff team.
In all seriousness this team is in trouble and HCMJ and his staff don't seem to have an answer.

I didn't think the D was that bad. Only had two goals scored. The PP sucks and we can't score same as every year around this time. We lack size up front. Things have changed. Calls are not made for clutching and grabbing so our speed and talent is negated. It's back to the old size and strength are what counts and we are left looking pesky. The failure to recognize this by management probably means Sid and Geno will only ever see one cup. It's kind of sad really but it was fun while it lasted. |

How long before ppl finally figure out that u gotta move geno...he is the only one that makes the most sense...id not wanna lose tanger. Need a franchise d man. The face of the team...I wouldnt touch him. Geno is the only one you could even talk into waiving his clause on top of it all. |

Also, for how long will we keep insisting on playing this top line? They had one good game against Calgary and thats it.
Why is it so hard to play perron and horn with Crosby? Something has to be happening on the background. I dont know if I can believe the rumors that Crosby chooses his teammates but thats the only thing that makes sense. Everybody is seeing them strugling and nothing is done. This must be the only coach in the NHL that wong juggle his lines when his team is struggling. Even bylsma would put malkin and Crosby togheter.
Other thing that bothers me is Crosby playing with kunitz over perron on 4-4 |

trade all ufas at the deadline except comeau and downie.
go with a young d. martin and erhoff will fetch a decent return. and pouliots play makes one of them easily dispensable. bring up dumolin and harrington and figure out who's the NHLer (hopefully both).
limp into the playoffs hope we get a round but except to be bounced. retool in the offseason based on young d performance in late season and playoffs.

is it time we behead on of the dragons and round out the entire team too? malkin would bring in a haul of now players and a few picks. |

Realistically for who? Who are you going to trade and what are you going to get. You trade one of those guys and the team you trade with will fleece you faster than you blink. Decision time. Do they want to make the playoffs as a low seed or do they want to call it a season and trade martin and ehrhoff for 1st round picks? Tough call |

If the pens are in "win now" mode, they will out-bid every team next year and land Babcock. |
