Ah, sorry about that, was only joking. Pretty amazing the bonds people form with their pets. My grandmother had a fall when she was alone and her dog came to her and helped her stand up |

Would you guys trade Matthias for a 2nd if he's demanding something like 2.5M or 3M per over 3 years on his next deal? |

I think between 1.8 to 2.5 over 3 years isn't bad. Over that let someone else pay. So yes. |

Without considering too many factors (ie playoff team/vs rebuild, position of 2nd round pick, etc) I would lean towards no. A deal like that takes him through his prime, 2.5-3 I think is a reasonable cap hit for 3rd line guy. |

Ya I worry that Matthias/Richardson will be resigned to 2-3 year contracts further limiting the teams ability to fit youth in. As good as both players have been I could live with moving them for picks/prospects.
If they can be signed to a 1 year deal that would be ideal but I imagine both will be looking for longer term contracts.
I think unless Higgins or Hansen is moved it will be hard to bring Matthias back. |

On a best practices sort of approach, I don't want to see any ntc's for bottom 9 guys or for non top pairing dmen. But I can see a limited ntc with just a few teams the club wouldn't trade the player to... if that was needed to bring a player like Dorsett back.
Looking at ufa's like Matthias and Richardson, if possible, I'd move them if they have no plans on resigning here next season. I hate the ideal of these guys walking if we could have gotten picks for them.
On d, we have a lot of pending rfa's and guessing a player like Sbisa is going to be too expensive next season, I'd be tempted to trade him at or before the tdl. |

I'd prefer to keep Matthias, even at 2.5 for 3 yrs. (obviously without any sort of ntc). Especially if we move burrows in the next year or so. While not the same type of player, Matthias is someone who can move up and down the lineup at multiple positions. |

I'm not sure Sbisa will have much value and I hope he isn't resigned, his play isn't at all close to the ~3 million qualifier that he will need to be offered. |

I just doubt that Burrows goes anywhere, I think he has a lot of respect in the room and his contract will make him a hard guy to move if the cap does indeed stay the same.
If in fact any of the many signed 3rd liners get moved I agree 3 years at 2.5 is very fair for Matthias, especially if he continues to show he can play C. |
