Sutter for Nino Niederreiter. Draft pick for Talbot.
- joescullz

Do you know Sutter's value compared to Nino's. I doubt it.

I don't get it either.

I've about had it with 87 on the PP. This crap has been going on for too long now. He needs called out by someone quite frankly.

Every blind backhand pass in the slot that gets intercepted takes a piece of my soul....

- 87_71_11_29

yeah. im about as big of a fanboy for 87 as you could find, but i am really really starting to grow too weary of it.

he needs to nut up. i really dont understand it. i truly dont.

All about this...3 opposing players clogging the slot...let's shuffle an unguarded pass through that mess, that'll work.

He needs to get away from the 1/2 wall and go back to staying by the net. Put #71 at 1/2 wall. Teams respect his shot and skating towards the net.

Exactly. We need billy guerin grit. max talbot grit. Brooks orpik crushing stamkos in his first playoff shift. How about Kunitz grit of a year or 2 ago? Not max lapierre head butting a guy on a draw.
- buckster2342

I agree with the head butt thing with Lap.

But, I'll say this, don't rule out Lap scoring more goals in the playoffs this season than 87.

Change of scenery trade: Bennett for Magnus Pääjärvi

I have seen 13 year old kids better than Magnus. He needs to go far away from the NHL. He blows ass.

Pens best odds to get to the Conference final.

Finish 7th or 8th.

Play the Habs in round 1. Somehow score enough on Price.

Play Wings/Bolts winner in round 2.

Much better matchups for Pens in that division than Metro.

Not saying we'd definitely win any of those. But, I like their chances more with those teams as opposed to the gauntlet in the Metro.

Berglund is an odd man out in STL, I would inquire on him as an upgrade for Sutter, then try to get Bergenheim.

Either way, its mid Feb and the past 2 months for this team have been pretty bad. Even with Ehroff coming back I still think this team sucks.

87 and 71 have been decent players this year. not great ones.

the rest of this team simply isnt good enough to compensate for that.

that really is the bottom line.

To me and I might be crazy, but out best matchups in this are Boston and Detroit - maybe Tampa. The rest, I don't like our chances at all.

Accurate write up until...

"But hey, they showed some grit, so there's that."

Stop it already with the sarcastic "grit" commends dude. You're like a 5 year old.

Grit doesn't equal stupidly punching someone in the face. Grit doesn't equal unnecessarily checking 42 into the boards. Grit doesn't equal 2-handing someone while on the PK.

You know full well that's not what those of us wanting more grit on the team are and have been asking for.

Grit equals digging a puck out of the corner. Grit equals taking a hit to make a play. Grit is mashing a puck into the net on a PP while 3 guys hang all over you. Grit is showing up when the game is on the line, playing smart, tough hockey. Grit is throwing your face in front of a puck when the game is on the line.

Maybe you don't understand it because you cant quantify it in a chart or graph.

- 87_71_11_29

You are right there but the people making the decisions have grabbed players that can only provide those tasks without helping with anything else.

Grit on its own is pointless, just like good advanced stats on its own is pointless.

I actually thought the 4th line did really in this game, they actually provided issues in the offensive zone, something they have not been able to do.

I have that same feeling that cross over wildcard spot might not be bad for this version of the Pens this year, the record out of the Metro is great both against the west and the atlantic

Bigger, physical teams have been giving this team fits for years. I think the Pens could handle the Habs too. I think Boston is getting a little long in the tooth.

But yeah, I don't like facing any team in the Metro. The records don't lie.

i hope they get in as a wild card. maybe then they will feel slighted and actually put themselves into it full throttle. thats really the only chance they have to make any noise.

Telling everyone that their opinion is wrong is so informative and helpful. Try giving an idea of your own sometime.

Oh, and no one likes you. So I win.
