Whatever anyone wants to call it...
No rentals unless it is part of a bigger deal that brings us some combination of youth/picks/potential.
The Clendening trade approach is interesting, trading one prospect for another that is a little older and further along in their development.
Patience is so boring, but necessary. |

Sure.
Torts will win the Jack Adams this year as well. |

I don't disagree. He's asking if I'd move Virtanen. Them are the d I'd want back. Add Trouba as well - Bieksa#3
Plain and simple just don't trade our top prospects or our top draft picks,.( not meant towards you) |

We are not going to rebuild so you need to get over that. Anyway, it was an interesting question. Who is the best dman we could get with what we got?
Why not cheer for the Leafs since you are so desperate for a rebuild.

The Canucks are in the 1st year of rebuild mode. |

In the next three years we will be getting rid of Hamhuis Bieksa Burrows Higgins Miller and the Sedins when their contact is up. That is a rebuild |

No wonder this guy isn't a coach anymore.

You prolly can't go wrong with that approach.
But there are exceptions and would think it would have to be quite the deal if Benning was going to move one of our top prospects. The salary cap hovering around where it is at could make for some serious moves for teams that are maxed out and have to get under the cap. |

Keep telling yourself that - but with 2 good trades we have a good team. a second line winger - which can be a rental in my opinion- and then a longer term play for a PP QB, and we are a different team |

You wouldn't get those players for JV, you would need to add a first rounder and a good roster player also .
Slow and patient. - VANTEL
None of those teams has any reason to move any of those players. Slow and patient is the word indeed. |

So, 2 good trades will get the Canucks a 1st and 2nd line and a puck moving D man for the point on the PP?
I love Xbox trade proposals!!! |

We don't need any 2nd liners. We need 3 1st liners |

Honestly not an interesting question because the only D that are available are a waste of assets. If we gave up a first for Cody Franson... |

Higgins, Stanton and Bieksa for Seguin, Benn and Nich
Hansen and burrows for OEL and Yandle |

We have been spoiled in years past with great d men - ohlund, jovo, lumme, who could move the puck and score. We lack that now. When BXA and Edler are your difference makers on the back end you play .500 hockey.
Question - who would be the best dman we could land right now:
- if we traded Jake V. in a package?
- if we traded Kassian in a package?
We need that deadly force on the back end. If we can't get the deadly force, why not Brian Campbell so at least we can be dangerous from the back and get the PP going? - TJTD
Not unless it is straight up for Higgins. Who in there right mind is going to trade for that contract with the less than stellar year he is having. Seriously! Its not the time to move valuable pieces of our future just to make the playoffs. |

We have a first line. Vrbata and Burrows can rotate in and out.
A better second line eases pressure on the first, and our 3rd and fourth are good.
Then we need real skill on the back end. |
