To be fair to the coaches, Mikko Koivu and Tomas Vanek really look like a shell of themselves these days.

Koivu definitely seems to be lacking something this game, which is odd because he usually seems to perform well against the Canucks. His play in the last 20 or so games has been pretty stellar, though. Winning the majority of faceoffs, dominant Corsi/Fenwick numbers, controlling the play in the offensive zone, and executing superbly defensively.

Not tonight, though.

Vanek, on the other hand, absolutely is a shell of what he used to be. I honestly think he's shaving points for his bookie from this whole gambling thing - looking at the amount of shots and shots he passes up is absolutely mind-boggling.

Very very solid players for their future.
