You do realize he's French?

So that automatically makes him stupid? Don't understand the connection.

Haven't seen anything from anybody who would be considered remotely credible.
- PetrolSexual

Yeah no one credible but like I said I have seen a number of posts. I am asking if anyone here has something else to add

Hindsight is everything, had Gillis/Nonis hung on to more picks and not made any moves for cup runs they would of been vilified for being too passive and not attempting to improve the club when they had a window.
Nonis mad a great trade in acquiring Luongo for only Bertuzzi, Allen and Auld.

Gillis made some good trades in acquiring Ehrhoff, Higgins, Lappiere and didn't give up anything for Booth even though he was a disappointment, both Samuellson and Sturm were done.

The Ballard trade looked good at the time but didn't work out. Pahlsson was a bust but only cost 2 4ths and an ECHLer. Hodgson trade was a wash, although I hated it at the time.
The Roy trade didn't work at all. The Schneider trade was underwhelming and the Luongo trade was brutal.

We will see how Benning does, but he doesn't have the same pressure to win now as the previous two had. I like how Benning operates but time will tell if he can make enough successful moves to be considered better.

Well said and hindsight is the matter.

Gillis (love him or hate him) did what was necessary to get us to the dance in 2010/ 2011. Hamhuis, Higgins, Malholtra, Samuelsson, Lapierre, Torres, Ehrhoff and a few others all instrumental in that cup run year. All Gillis. If we would have won the rest would be moot.

Selling off assets for Sturm, Pahlsson and Roy well...not so much. Booth we got away with...

So here we are. Bubble team on the cusp of playoffs. I like Benning and think he will lead us down the right path.

Tanev out for tonight's game.

I'm thinking I should bench Lack tonight in the pool.

He added some good pieces(Demitra/Sundin/Samuelsson/Torres/Higgins/Hamhuis/Ehrhoff/Malhotra). You have to give him credit for those moves if you're gonna rip him for all of his bad ones. He also made changes the scouting group, making Crawford the chief scout and such.

The Booth and Ballard moves as well as the goalie drama was his biggest downfall. Also failing to recognize the team was starting to decline after the SCF and the core needed a shakeup.

Horvat is looking pretty good now though...

Wonder if Tanev's suffering from concussion-like symptoms again, taking 2 hits to the head like that in a short span is never good.

Fun fact: According to war-on-ice.com, Tanev's the most hit player in the league since the beginning of last season.

Even if they win it's going to be an ugly, boring one as Freidman just suggested, they'll likely be looking to play a du,p and cycle, trap style tonight Kind of a lose-lose in terms of entertainment.
