Calgary needs a 4/5 D yet all rumors seem to involve forwards. I don't get it. |

Im one of his biggest critics but those last six or seven yrs made this season possible. Hes not perfect but he has signed excellent players to great contracts and and pretty much drafted an excellent team. Have to give credit where its due because now with those great contracts we wont be scrambling signing ahl players in a few yrs with three or four stars signed to over the top stupid contracts. This team is set to be good for a long Time. - Cptmjl
The guy has picked at an average of #5 for 8 yrs. If he took the best player available in every draft they'd still be loaded. A (frank)ing monkey can do that.
I get a little sick of the teams who are lottery teams every season discussing how great of drafters they are.
Are u gonna credit the gm this yr for having the foresight to sect McDavid? |

Kind of irrelevant here, not does it mean anything, but when was the last time we saw a 'Hawks rumor? I seriously can't remember the last time Ek mentioned the 'Hawks in anything.
I know they are limited cap-wise, but they'll probably add a bottom pairing D-man/bottom-six forward like they do every year.
Surprised they haven't been mentioned at all. Like not once. - TommyHawk
Thats a good thing
If your team isn't mentioned in a rumor than most likely they are about to make a trade.
Only teams that are mentioned in rumors never make trades.
Thats the way this site works.

I don't think Kassian is going anywhere, especially the way he has been gaining chemistry with Matthias and Dorset. |

Hamonic, cizikas, martin, dehaan (12th), grabner (waiver), hickey (waiver), lee (3rd round tied for rookie lead in goals this season), Nelson. Every one of these players were piicked out of the top five most in later rounds after the 3rd besides dehaan who went 12th and nelson who went 30th. Like I said I've always been critical but even I have to give credit. These players are all gigantic reasons for this teams resurgence. Hes not perfect but to think hes an idiot is pretty stupid in itself. |

Ok. All of those teams let hamonic, lee, martin, and cizikas slip through their fingers in multiple rounds. Makes sense. |

The 2009 draft yielded 4 current players on the NHL roster out of 7 picks. Including the currently streaking Anders Lee in the 6th round and Cizikas in the 4th.
The 2008 out draft yielded 4 full-time NHL'ers and a few borderline ones.
Your model franchises 2008 and 2009 drafts yielded 1 full-time NHL player. Combined.
Edit: and that player was superstar Cody Hodgson. |

Sweet. Maybe they overpay for Bozak then regress |

Don't you ever get tired of being the village idiot? - elcabong
bozak is easily an upgrade on eller, but you are begging for him not to come to your team?
offensively there is not much difference, at least bozak has shown he can play with skilled players, something eller obviously can't do.
oh, and bozak and plekanec have nearly identical faceoff winning percentage.
who's the village idiot again? clearly you're just a bandwagoning habs fan, nice try though. |

The thing is, genius, Montreal isn't looking to add a center. No where did I say Bozak wasn't good player. |

Got to love the facts. No question the Islanders were helped being in the lottery. Still lots of players acquired outside the lottery. Islanders could have gotten impatient and traded the young talent away and did not. |
