I am not whining, I am actually paying the team a compliment . We are doing a good job on the back end, we need a top 6 forward . Trading Higgins will not get that. Trading Bieksa or Hamhuis could.

Kessel and Torts together would have the equivalent reaction of splitting an Atom.

Don't get me wrong, you certainly have a point. With the Stanton-Clendenning pairing looking real good we do have some freedom concerning our 9 D.

But Hamhuis and Bieksa both have NTC's and are a large part of this team. If the team can keep this pace i don't see why Benning would dump assets at the trade deadline, let alone if their in a playoff position.

Yeah, a 16 year old playing in the whl and a ppg player. It was like watching Sid the kid but not that much world class skill. Maybe if Crosby and rich Nash had a baby.

If they keep rolling until the TDL(I still have my doubts despite two nice wins), I don't think Benning can sell, the locker room will lose respect for him. The draft is where I think he'll look to make a more creative/ballsy trade.

Plus to have that kind of weight at 16 is really impressive.

Teams start prepping 2 years in advance to tank.

Plus we have to get used to every year from now on having a "generational" player.

Austin Matthews is next years "generational" player.

Funny thing is about a week ago Bieksa says he hopes Benning does make a move to make a push. By adding someone ,they need to move someone, but he is in full support of that

You can those franchise players. Crosby, ovi, stamkos, Tavares. Then dry years like all of the oilers years. hahahha. Mcdavid and Matthews might be the next ones.
