Possible trade #2:

To Mtl: F Nail Yakupov
To Edm: F Jiri Sekac G Dustin Tokarski 2015 1st

(don't think this matches the return Yakupov would bring)

oh man, please no. I don't want to have to drop Krieder
- SpoiledByOil

If you want to drop him just put him within 3ft of a goaltender and then blame it on someone else

I'll bet if you provide the source of that rumor it will be from some hack twitter account or website.

Was that a HockeyInsiderr special?

Is he really that good are Toronto fans still romancing his old man?
- glove_was_stuck

His old man sucked but watching the kid at the world juniors was pretty special. He clearly has some skills his father never had.

Doesn't address needs? They suck. They could use 2 or 3 of everything.

Given what has been said recently, Eller and Emelin are the players being shopped by the habs. So if Yakupov were to be dealt here (which again MacKenzie and Dreger shot down) then I think Eller would be a piece included and not Sekac.

Eller and a first would be a given, question else what other pieces. Deal needs to make sense for both teams.

Dreger and MacKenzie have both mentioned how they have heard no connection between Montreal and Edmonton for Yakupov but hey what do thy know.
- willey101

I really dont think this guy has ever been correct. I mean one of the biggest hockey trades in a long time just went down with a ton of players moved and not a peep out of him. He knows nothing at all and should be jailed for taking peoples money to be a member. Just so i can see his fake rumor chart.

What a fraud

Hey Im not criticizing, I am saying I would never do it for 2 questions marks. If Yakupov pans out, If Petry re-signs. Habs had a major issue with depth in the minors and are finally starting to build it. If they make a move of that caliber I want a young player but an established player.

This depletes them considerably and given how they are not an elite team, it's not worth it.

- willey101

I understand what your concern would be but.... Nail Yakupov coming to MTL? Am I the only one that sees the jackpot there. You got Markov and Gonchar - both seasoned vets and his countrymen that can mentor him and bring him long. This guy isn't a bust. He's a highly touted - high flying winger that's thrown on a team that was a mess - and that's not a shot at the Oilers.

So you bring him to MTL you shield him a little because you have Patchs and Plecs and the offence isn't all on him but more importantly you have leadership there. Hall is out now and Yakupov is going to be needed even more. You put Yaks on MTL with Subban on defense. Their PP alone would be terrifying. Adding Petry makes them more solidified behind Subban

Wasn't making fun of you about this bogus rumor last night enough for you?
- Feds91Stammer

It make sense tho, even If it's not at this deadline....It could happen at the draft! Pitt have Crosby, Malkins, Letang...CHI have Towes, Kane and Keith and others and If you looks at the contracts for Rangers...Martin St-Louis's will be off the book after this season and he's close to 40...Why not replace him with Kessel...No? I could see it happen with top or two prospect with 1st and second round pick!

For (frank)s sakes it's been said numerous times that the habs aren't interested in Yak. I don't care how good he would be with Galchenyuk, a small Russian that can't backcheck isn't exactly the recipe for a player needed for a cup run. Plus that chemistry with Galchenyuk would only work in Chucky play's centre, and right now he isn't because there's no room and he told Therrien he's more comfortable playing the wing.
