If the old man was stupid enough to rush the mound then he got what he deserved. Pedro pushed him to the ground. It's not like he clocked him in the jaw.

Come to think about it, watching Zimmer get KO'd would have been hilarious.

Man, tough crowd - advocating beating up a senior because he 'charged' (not sure how fast an overweight octogenarian can 'charge' anything (in the article synopsis it said Pedro could have (and did) sidestep him - but after he sidestepped him he threw him to the ground). Was that really necessary? the humiliation alone would have sufficed, me thinks

Disagree, Zimmer was going down already, that gut was dragging him down.

I know, but why the (frank) was Zimmer anywhere near the mound? If he's pissed then yell from the dugout. He went full retard and got what he deserved.

And it was so so humiliating. That's what you get for being an idiot. He knew it and that's why he apologized.

Yes, you are right, that's why I mentioned it would have been embarrassing enough for Zimmer if Martinez just stepped out of the way, like he originally did (you could see Zimmer lose his balance at that time and it was inevitable he would be eating turf - I just don't think Pedro had to go there, but alas, I don't know much about Zimmer except that he's been (or was) in baseball for 834 years. Perhaps he liked to hand out his share of verbal abuse?

Oooooh, now I see why there's sympathy.

Didn't understand it at first, don't see it much around these parts.

lol I WAS a Dallas Cowboys fan (my exgirlfriend basically forced me to watch the games; however, I in turn got her into the Hawks). Oh, and when Dallas won, all I can say is, things was good, if you know what I mean bay bay

Incidentally, not much of a baseball fan but I have been routing for the woeful Cubs (talk about coincidence) since I don't know when lol

P.s had a chance to visit Wrigley Field when I was in Chicago a number of years ago. Awesome park

Anyone read JJ's blog?

Interesting that he mentioned the loss to the canucks sent the management group “scrambling” to look for a solution. They are 5-3-2 in the last ten games. Why did a loss to the canucks cause them to scramble?

I think they still hate us.

Perhaps they were thinking up a strategy against biting/hair-pulling?

Me neither I haven't seen a baseball game in 17 years, it's the most boring sport in the world. I need constant action, Formula 1, Hockey, Rugby that's where my attentions are.

Agreed 100%

Baseball isn't really even considered a sport - it's a 'pasttime'

Pasttime - something that amuses and serves to make time pass agreeably : diversion. Sounds about right

Yankees fan and a cowboys fan. Guess you're also a Lakers fan to complete the bonehead trifecta.

Baseball is not loved by many as a viewable option television wise.

However, Actually attending a game has a very cool laid back atmosphere. I love going down to Safeco to watch my Blue Jays lose every year.

The garlic fries arent bad either

Forget Bozak
- VANTEL

Yeah exactly. Gillis was big on Bozak but now that the ship has sailed I'm pretty sure Benning won't bring Bozak here...at least I hope not.

Ok, as touched on, the Cowboys thing was purely based on anticipated sex hi-jinks post-game (my team has always been the Hawks)

Yankees - never liked them. I don't mind the Cubbies because they have been woeful for so long, they deserve a break one of these decades

Oh, and I did like the Lakers when they had Magic (and those awesome showdowns between the Celtics and Bird) . Now, just like baseball, I very rarely watch (except maybe the playoffs)

I'm not a beer drinker, so it's a different atmosphere for me. Now, a hash brownie at Coors field might work, I might not care that there is a baseball game going on.

Benning watched the Leaf's 3rd period game 7 collapse in person. He is bringing no one from Toronto here.

I think that JJ would prefer to blog for a bad team, he seems to enjoy ripping into them. Some of his blogs, where he takes issue with something the Blackhawks have done, or should have done, or should have done differently, I just shake my head and think, "really man? Really? I wish we had the Blackhawks problems. He's worried about their seventh defenceman, while we just had a coach who had a (frank)ing bed installed in his (frank)ing office so that he would go to morning skates, and he still didn't go!"

He's got to write about something I guess.

Yes, yes, yes, I've been calling it that as well for years if not decades. An excuse to drink beer.
