If they ask to be traded that's one thing, but if the organization asks them to waive then the best that you can expect is the kind of return we got for Garrisson.

You can blame Gillis for handing out NTCs like candy on Halloween, but I find it difficult to blame a player for exercising a right that they negotiated, and in most cases left money on the table because of the NTC.

As someone pointed out, this year's Flames are last year's Avs. They are a hard working and fairly creative bunch but I just don't see that being sustained next year. There's still alot of growth to go before the Flames are a consistent contender. That said, I really love what they've been doing
