From what I understand you can't claim someone on their way down on waivers unless you keep them in the NHL

They are bringing him in to see if his inconsistence can counter balance our inconsistence. They are hoping he is on , on the nights that we are off or they thought his inconsistency would be perfect for this team

So with Meyers gone and looks like Yandle is next...maybe a great time to see what we can get from 9 d that we are currently carrring and not forgetting Sanguinetti and Beiga in the minors. So far I would say Edler, Tanev are untouchable and everyone else is available. There is no way Benning carries that many D on the roster past the deadline. What do you guys think is the most likely scenario.

Come on now, Gillis made some bad moves but if anything I think he tended to overthink with his obsession with advanced stats and trying to rely more on numbers than scouting.

D always go down injured. I think it's more likely than not that none will get traded prior to the TDL unless a replacement is coming back.

every year the canucks have the same problem before trade deadline. They need a top 4 D and a top 6 forward.
