Malkin left point, Letang right point.
Hornqvist at net, Perron in the slot. Sid in the right corner. Not half-wall, corner.
Sid controls the puck, has three right-handed shooting options and two release valves for pressure.
The second unit, made up of whoever (I suppose Kunitz, Sutter, and whatever looks like a top-six wing by March) and a few of the kid defenders spell the top unit with the objective being to get an offensive zone whistle for unit 1. - Johnny Wrath

On the PP, why won't Letang move laterally and take a shot? He has the skating ability. Frustrating. |

They get too cute, MAKE the simple play, don't overthink. That rarely works in hockey. |

Not as frustrating as listening to Pierre...and to think he was almost the GM (at least according to him) |

A team can acquire players equal to the value of a player's contract if the player is on LTIR even if it means exceeding the salary cap. If the player on LTIR is to be activated, the team would have to become cap compliant to do so. Kane would have freed up a lot of money because there's no way only players on entry level deals and picks would have gone back. - Johnny Wrath
But was Kane placed on LTIR yet? I saw he was on IR but didn't see anything about LTIR. Teams typically don't put a guy on LTIR until they need the cap space. So if he wasn't on LTIR then it wasn't a possibility. Besides that, I am not sure what you said above is true. That seems like straight up cap circumvention to me. |

Top 2 lines look very good, 4th is ok. But 3rd is responsible for at least half of Detroits chances. Beau has been invisible |

No he's correct on the LTIR. That's why pitt had so much cap space the year they got Iggy, morrow etc. Injuries to high salary players
