Well that would be fine if they continued to play the whole pp or at least 1:30 of it. Now the first line plays half with 87/71 staying out a little longer.

Malkin left point, Letang right point.

Hornqvist at net, Perron in the slot. Sid in the right corner. Not half-wall, corner.

Sid controls the puck, has three right-handed shooting options and two release valves for pressure.

The second unit, made up of whoever (I suppose Kunitz, Sutter, and whatever looks like a top-six wing by March) and a few of the kid defenders spell the top unit with the objective being to get an offensive zone whistle for unit 1.

I don't understand the obsession by some on here with Tlusty, Jagr, etc. Need big bodies for the playoffs, guys who stand in front of the net and don't get pushed away by the other teams defense. I think we should do whatever it takes to convince Arizona to do a Sutter for Vermette trade and add guys like Kassian and Winnik to the mix. A 3c who can actually help out of offense on a consistent basis and a couple big bodies to win the little wars would make much more difference in the playoffs over some euro-perimeter guys who might pot the odd goal but will hardly set the world on fire. The playoffs are warfare, who do you want to take to war?

I love the time leading up to the deadline...but

I. cant. take. any. more. Jagr. talk.

Would anyone trade Bennett for M. Foligno?

Now's the time to ask. While they're still trying to figure out what the hell happened today...

Well went with the Bauer Vapor-Backstrom pattern. Felt good in my hand and I used to score goals with the Vapor when it 1st came out. Hopefully it cures my stone hands

It's a good pattern for shooting. Big sweet spot, I think.

Everywhere I look the majority of people seem to think the Jets absolutely slaughtered Buffalo in that trade today. Everyone seems to think Winnipeg got better just by getting rid of Kane and Bogosian and the pieces they got in return were all just bonus. How can you look at Kane and Bogosian and think Winnipeg didn't lose anything? Bogosian is a solid D who has a ridiculous amount of experience for only being 24 yrs old. And Kane is a hell of a player, great blend of physicality and skill. Him playing on a line with McDavid could be awesome. I like this trade for Buffalo. Obviously Winnipeg could hit lightning in a bottle if either of the prospects or the draft pick turn out great, but that is all risk and speculation at this juncture.

My headphones stopped working today so I traded my brother an Xbox controller for his headphones. A+ for both sides since we both got what we needed.

We don't blame Fleury in your scenario at all, our PK goes 6-6, and Crosby, Perron, Letang on the lone goal.

My take is this is good for both teams.

Wpg got some nice pieces that should help them make the playoffs plus a couple of prospects. Buff fans have something to be excited about with 2 legit top end roster players.

Win win IMO.

As of today, Buffalo won the trade big time in my opinion.

Like you said, if 2 of the 3 futures (Armia/Lemieux/1st round pick) end up being impactful NHL players (top 9 or top 4 defense), that changes it a little bit, but I think Buffalo made a great trade today.

The late 1st rounder was nothing to them, they have prospects and still have two 1st and two 2nd round picks in this year's draft.

The verdict is out on Winnipeg until those future pieces develop, they basically treaded water for this season, but got out of the Kane situation.

Jagr is a big body who is 1 of the if not the toughest player to knock of the puck. Tlusty drives to the net and plays a simple game similar to Fedotenko. As far as winnik and Kassian solving all pitts problems, they have less than 10 goals this year COMBINED

Probably a clutch-fest and a tiresome bodyslam.

Tonight will be a contrast of styles, or more to the point, a contrast of team versus individual. I imagine it will be very visible. The Adams fight loss would be emblematic of the struggle of one Penguin against 3 or 4 opponents, desperately making no-look passes and taking 50 second shifts.
