Stewart is still there! lol
Back to the Bergenheim, Winnik, Jagr, Tlusty talk..
I don't want to trade Beau, but another scratching, why not discuss? Any youngish high draft pick forward out there struggling right now that would make sense straight up? Kassian and Etem were brought up before...anyone else? - YouMeAndDupuis9
Baertschi -Calgary
Miller- Rangers
Foligno -Buffalo
Pieces may be need to be added but they're options

Might as well throw in Pouliot while you are at it. It would also require retention of nearly all of Jagr's salary. |

Jesus. That's at least double the value for JJ.
Does anyone think JJ walking through that door is going to save this season? |

Phoenix picked up Marc Arcobello, a top-six forward, for nothing. |

It takes away a 5 million dollar chunk we can use else where. Like our depth. Or we can keep Sill/Adams players around and everyone will still female dog and complain. We aren't in a bad situation with the cap going forward, I would much rather be a full 4 line team than a 2 line team (like we are right now) - znagle
You can pay guys Sill/Adams money but get better results. Look at Comeau, he makes the same as Adams and it is ridiculous the differece between the two productivity wise. Just look at this year, we could have a 4th line of Comeau-LaPierre-Downie for 2.8 million. That is very reasonable capwise and would be a very competent 4th line. |

I thought he was better than the entire 4th line, but whatever. Can't get mad over that when Beau is still scratched for those guys as well.

Ah don't get me started on TK. Least favorite Pen of the modern era. Always tried to Mario his was through the neurtal zone, go wide, miss a wide angle shot by a mile, break out for the other team. - sammy87
Everybody in building knew it was coming but he still look the D off with a fake pass and they'd fall for it....maybe that way because they knew a odd man rush was about to happened going the other way. Good ole TK

The more I see these trade proposals, the more I think we'll be better off staying pat and riding it out. At some point, you have to stop sending draft picks out the door.
The only kind of moves I'd like to see them make would be sending Sutter and/or Spaling out for salary-equivalent more physical players. Similar to the Goc-Lap deal.
Btw...anyone catch what Barkley said about the Houston Rockets and analytics? Couldn't have agreed with him more. - 87_71_11_29
Had to look it up, Barkley is always entertaining! But yeah X2 with him on that. Just read Money Ball, hey we made a solid team out of a bunch of has beens, had a good run, but are so boring to watch the owners must close off the upper deck so we don't get blacked out in playoff games! How have the A's been since? |

Dominos? Seriously though the writing is on the wall, BB has played his last game as a Pen. - sammy87
maybe hes been hurt this whole time and the pens dont want to tell anyone bc it would hurt his trade value plus it would make everyone here like him even less
or
hes getting traded
or
hes having a family/personal issue
not sure it could be anything else? |

It's just really odd that, well, all of this is happening.
I'm not mad at anything re: Beau because Beau has been such a peripheral part of the team that Beau is more of a concept than anything. How high a pick does a concept land you these days? Shall I ask Douglas Murray? |

Meh, small change. I'm looking for at least one Jagr to be involved. |

GMJR is all in on Winnik apparently. Good depth move, but I would be shocked if that was the last move with Arco getting claimed. |

No. But if Jagr said he wanted to go to Pittsburgh, Lamoriello would probably honor his wishes. And if that were the case, it would likely involve Sutter so I'd be all for it. I also think Jagr and Malkin would be a very good duo and Johnston's system is perfectly designed for a possession player like Jagr. |

Which is more unattractive?
Phone rings. "Hello?"
"Hey, it's JR. I wanted to pick up that discussion we were having about Bennett."
"Oh, yeah... isn't he out again? What's the deal?"
"He's banged up. (JR lets out a chair-rattling fart). He's spent so much time away from the team that we forgot what color his hair is. Hello?!"
Or:
"Hey, it's JR. I wanted to pick up that discussion we were having about Bennett."
"Oh, yeah... isn't he out again? What's the deal?"
"You know, it's a thing with him and the coach. Johnston wants to get the right mix in depending on the opponent. (JR swirls the last of the cheap hooch in his coffee mug, then pours it down his throat). Coach thinks he's too soft to have played on the Western Canada swing. Hello?!"
