Yeah, he would take Adams spot. Unless you're in the minority that thinks Adams brings alot to the table - willi
No I'd slot him on the 3rd. Post you responded to had him listed as a LW. Bennett Downie and Horny are the RW. Kunitz Peron and Comeau should all be playing the left side. Split them up however you want |

Dreger saying Pittsburgh continue to swirl around Daniel Winnick I expect to be undefeated after we acquire this world beater - dbell646
Unless that move would get Sutturd out of here I want nothing to do with Winnik, I would take Talbot back before that. |

Can we just bring 66 back for the Power Play? - dbell646
I bet you he would score 2 goals on his first PP opportunity. |

wow ! the Predators are SCARY! coach + goalie + cap space out the yin/yang = Oh my !!! I'm glad they're in the west and hoping they peak too early. - Bradlee3
They are very good right now - of course playoffs could be a different story - but they look very complete.
Seeing a team like Nashville...who few thought would be this good, play like they do makes you wonder a little about the Pens, doesn't it?
We talk a lot on this forum about making moves to add depth and make this team a cup contender, but then I look at Nashville and say, they are doing it without the mega stars - sure, Forsberg is up and coming and Weber and Rinne are studs - but nobody associates those guys with the same things they think of when you say Crosby, Malkin and Letang - do they?
The problem with the Pens...to me...is that the new coach needs to sit down his captain an tell him...look Sid, let me decide who plays where. Your job is to go out and play hard regardless...lead this team...PERIOD.
I'm not sure why but I kind of think that's the main problem right now...(from things I have heard - Sid picks his linemates...Sid and Geno and power play time...etc)..the only way this team achieves what others do (with seemingly less) is if the egos get checked at the door.
I don't think of Sid as a big ego guy...but I do think there is still a little too much importance placed on keeping the top guys happy...which is more so the case when you rely on them so much due to their talent versus the rest of the roster and the money you spend on them. It's the other 'evil', if you will, when you have a top heavy salary structure. Your top investments must produce top end results...and so you have to keep them happy. If those guys made 1/2 that money and you had 3 other talented guys on the roster, then things kind of even out and it becomes easier to create a 'TEAM'. |

His 4 goals on the season have certainly made all the difference for Toronto. |

I heard Sutter actually DID call your sister the day after the one night stand. She just didn't have his number registered and didn't listen to the voicemail. 100% her fault.
Thats why you hate him, right? |

Well you would need a time machine to do that, which makes it more difficult. |

MORNING SKATE INFO
Christian Ehrhoff (concussion-like symptoms) and Mark Arcobello (waiver) were not at the Pens' morning skate. Blake Comeau (upper body) skated on a line with Evgeni Malkin and Patric Hornqvist. It's a good sign that he may be returning to the lineup.
The team used the following workflow...
Kunitz-Crosby-Perron
Comeau-Malkin-Hornqvist
Spaling-Sutter-Downie
Sill-Lapierre-Adams
(Bennett)
Seems he is, but not officially on a line |

Perron 3.8 , Sid 8.75 Hornqvist 4.25
Kane 5.25, Geno 9.5, Kunitz 4 million
That is 35 million right there alone. Perron will also need an extension after next season. Add that to MAF 5.75 and Letang 7.25 and you have 48 million alone with the top two lines, top dman and goalie. As of now the cap doesn't look like it's rising that much if at all next year. That leaves us with 6 forwards, 5 defenseman and a back up goalie to sign at least. Don't forget Maatta, Despres will need new contracts soon as well with the rest of our prospect D right behind them. - znagle
Quit speaking with so much logic around here.
We aren't getting 68, there's no need. It will be a waste and he sure as hell would be gone in the summer.
We don't really need another top 6 winger and we sure as hell aren't fitting a top six and another bottom 6 player just from moving spalling out of town. Speaking of spalling hes been playing well enough and moved all around the roster that I just don't see them moving him. I know hes not effective in the top six but he hasn't been terrible, just put in a role that's above his head. All of us agreeing that hes a tad overpaid has never been enough motivation for this management to move anyone. *cough scuderi cough*
I agree that replacing Sutter would be the best move we could probably make before playoffs. But this, moving spalling, buying out/trading scuderi, saying goodbye to adams and sill, none of these are going to happen till the offseason.
If we can resign Comeau and Downie, free up some space with some or all of the plugs gone, and Maatta and Dupuis coming back we could have a much better lineup next year.
Perron Crosby Hornqvist
Kunitz Malkin Dupuis
Comeau (pickup) Bennett
(anyone) (anyone) Downie
Who knows, Sutter and Lapierre could be back in their center roles next year. I could see this management keeping both (not my idea). Sundqvist and Kappanen will be in the AHL for development and could crack the lineup. (No they're not fourth line players) And before anyone complains about it Dupuis Comeau and Bennet are all interchangeable in the lines above. |

Dreger saying Pittsburgh continue to swirl around Daniel Winnick I expect to be undefeated after we acquire this world beater - dbell646
It will be his 6th organization in 5 years. Obviously a game breaker
However, he plays a ton of PK minutes, and is an upgrade over most of our bottom 6 right now. |

Tikhonov is under contract with ARI, I believe. As for Panarin I'd have to believe it would be risky to expect a 23 year old to come overseas and learn a structured, tight checking game. Both maybe good summer "projects" as long term, affordable options as Malkin wingers. IMO of course. - stowerkraut
I was talking about Tikhonov in particular. Good two way game. He's 27 so maybe hes not under ARI control anymore. Either way, we could trade a 7th or something for his rights. I'd give him a shot....but I'm not one of those "all Russians are lazy" type of people. |
