Rutherford should send Sutter to Arizona for Arcobello. Sutter's so bad it would still be a good move. - jfkst1
Hate to tell you this ... Arcobello wishes he could be Sutter. That is the honest to God truth.

I am near certain it was Dan's call to NOT give Iggy his preferred wing and leave Neal where he was. Even though Neal played on the opposite in the years prior in his career, he rather not give the future HoF big price rental his proper wing. - Guile
Sid made it very clear that he was comfortable with his linemantes. |

His line was also what, the 2nd best line point wise in the NHL that year? I see no reason to have tampered with it. |

Agreed. That line was lights out. No reason to mess with it. |

Disco was so fascinated with Neal one timer from his off wing that he made Iggy play the left side. Disco was set in his ways and wouldn't change then...win or lose

I don't have a particularly high opinion of Arcobello, but the only thing Sutter has on Arcobello is height. Sutter is a 4th line caliber center. And not even a good one at that.

Does Jagr deserve a top 6 spot in Pittsburgh?
If he does, we know it will most likely be with Malkin and that somebody will have to play a wing they are not accustomed to. |

I get his reasoning... but that was stupid to obtain a player and not want to use him close to the right way.
If you obtain a 3rd or 4th liner to plug in, its ok to swap the wing. If its a top line player you give him his (frank)ing spot or don't spend the assets to obtain him. |

We don't know for sure but I don't think anybody would say it's a stretch that Sid has a lot of say in who his linemates are. - icedog97
Which is a monstrosity of a problem.
Meanwhile Malkin has had at least as good an NHL career as 87 with Sid's hand me down wingers. Sykora, Neal, Iginla, & all had been targeted to fit with Crosby. The only acquisition which stuck with 87 was Hossa. Perron may be a long-term fit with Sid, but to hear it a certain way this is only because Dupuis is almost certainly finished.
I don't understand two things about this premise: Why the team would doom itself to a built-in double standard, and why Sid would demand to be played with an experimental third line wing like Duper over, say, Ig. |

Yes, him playing anywhere else in the line up would be idiotic. Kind of like the Beau Bennett saga, Beau just doesn't fit in on the bottom 6 neither would Jagr. |

Only person who said sid doesn't want to play with horn is rossi amd he doesn't know poop - nh4442
Yeah it was only said once by a guy kicked out of the locker room.
Nobody knows if Sid calls any shots or not. I can't see him being the type to undermine a coaches decisions for his personal preferences. A true leader buys into what the coach is selling and gets the whole team on board. I don't get the "I don't want play with a future HOFer Iggy who is far superior to Dupes because Dupes and I had a good season, I don't feel comfortable." |

Duper plays Sids game...he gets him the puck.

I agree with you, but it just doesn't work the way Sid wants it to be. The time for MJ to make a stand and actually coach, is now. The pandering to Sid needs to end, and that's the bottom line. |

On a perfect world where everyone plays his preferred side:
Perron - Sid - Horn
Kuni - Geno - Jagr
Comeau - Spaling - BB
Nice Top9 IMO. |

Maatta last year, and Despres this year is a proper example of young role player giving a spark. Pouliot would be pure risk. - Guile
He's played 8 games? What is it to you that makes him look out of place? Wait are you Blysma?
The bigger point being, the Penguins have nearly the worst 3rd and 4th lines in the NHL. Addressing that via trade will take moving salary from an assumed area of strength. (Martin or erhoff)
You cannot win a cup with 2 lines.

Dude, Arcobello is an ECHL type of player. He was a very good college player at Yale, but a dime a dozen type of player elsewhere. Sutter has sucked the last month, but don't be a fool. He towers over Arcobello as a player. It's not close either. |

Pittsburgh acquired him to keep him away from Boston. It's putting two and two together. It worked out well for Boston and poorly for us. |

I think that 3rd line could go different ways...but yes...those top 2 work for sure
We sit here and say HELL YES
Then the question is, if it doesn't happen, why?
The other issue is PP time...you know Jags wants some
I'm very convinced this team needs to balance the PP across 2 units and play the way Tocchet is asking them to (which they seem to be avoiding)...
If they did that and split the time up evenly...everybody could (potentially) be happy
Ah...perfect worlds just don't exist you know |

If weren't going to move players to slot in their proper spots there was really no reason to acquire Iginla. Once they did the Pens should've adjusted. Looks similar to this year as he's playing with 2 left wingers |
