Exactly. And what has Drouin proven so far huh? A whooping 2 goals scored?
- Not_Yan

He's brutal, obviously. Definitely not worth acquiring.

look, Franson+Winnik+Percy for Drouin isn't brutal. doesn't get it done, but it's not BRUTAL.
- DoubleDown

WTF would Tampa ever consider moving Drouin? I mean, not just in the "what type of package would get the conversation started this year" way, I mean EVER.

Salary cap? Rebuild at some point down the road?

But yeah, they won't trade him now.

I must say, aside from receiving a penalty after Jacob de la Rose was getting past him, he did have a solid game.

How the hell did Tokarski get the 2nd star yesterday? Most of his "incredible saves" were mostly due to the fact he was out of position or down on his knees way too fast.

Edit: Not to mention he looked shaky all game, always losing sight of the puck and giving juicy rebounds.

38 shots against probably had something to do with it.

Tokarski is not a #1 goalie and probably never will be. A good competitor, good goalie, good teammate apparently, but he should accept his #2 job and embrace it. Nothing wrong with that.
- Not_Yan

I'm not going to crucify the kid as he was left alone quite a few times but he sure didn't inspire confidence last night.

He's played good games for us in the past and everyone has bad games once in a while, he's still young ... we'll see.

I haven't heard anything suggesting otherwise. He's a good fill-in. Not a long-term option, but you don't expect that from a backup anyway.

I think Drouin would be a salary cap casualty as much as Stamkos would be. Neither is going anywhere.

Agreed. Last night was far from his shining moment.

In his defence though, playing the Oilers shouldn't require a Vezina-like performance. There's not much excuse for the Habs to allow 38 shots against to a team that came into the night with 15 wins on the season.

Gretzky and Roy were traded. You never know.

I would not expect it, but it's not like we have a crystall ball.

I've always felt that if you can get .500 hockey from your backup, you're in good shape. Tokarski is 5-4-2. There's not much to complain about.

I just got a call from a contractor new to the area who went off on a long string of "Calisse" "merde" "anglais" and "Tabar..." comments when he found out I wouldn't sell to him.

I didn't catch all of it, but he got really quiet after I responded to the next English question he asked in French.

So thank you guys for that.

True that .500 from your back is "good enough"

I'm just not a big fan of this smallish goalie that flip flops all over the place... has a hard time controlling the rebounds , doesn't cover the tight angles and is most often out of position.

It sounds radical and negative... he's not bad but also not great.

He's better than Budaj and a lot of back-up around the league. More experience will help him as well. It's his first year in the NHL full time as a back-up.

Oh he's way better than Budaj. Last night was his worst performance IMO. he just didn't look right, despite the fact that he made some great saves.

He was pretty bad against Arizona too.

And the Islanders before that.
