I can't understand being that anti Mez. He did some really good stuff when he was effective. Granted, he was pretty bad the last year and a half of his tenure, but I don't think he deserved to be hated.
- ThirdEye

I think he quit, mentally. I understand bad play. I think he didn't care and was just there for the paycheck, after the injuries. You could see that he didn't want to exert himself, take a hit to make a play

The Bruins were never a long-term fit, but he's been a healthy scratch in Buffalo, where one columnist said after yet another sorry effort that he should never take the ice for the Sabres -- the 30th place Sabres -- again

I didn't see that. That's some awful subjective conjecture there.

I can't believe you listen to WIP
- ob18

She and Turtle and Glen Mac go way back. I still can't imagine she listens now that Glen is gone. I'm completely out at this point. The afternoon drive shows on both stations are unlistenable. Philly sports radio is a complete embarrassment, They need to be torn down and remade worse than all the sports teams in this town that they spend 24 hrs a day complaining about.

He wasn't getting scratched by Chief for nothing -- they kept waiting for him to do anything to justify a roster slot. They desperately wanted him to do anything

Yeah like that Nash who left Columbus as a free agent comment.....on 3 different days. I loved JR as a player. I have a Flyers JR jersey. Loved him in Chicago and everywhere else. but man, as an analyst.........he infuriates me
- nastyflyergirl

I'm with you completely here except for the jersey.

Well, you sank your hockey knowledge with that miss. Their sense is the same:

- Flyskippy

Tibbets could at least carry the puck somewhat and knew, more or less, where to be when he was on the ice. Rinaldo is just a dog chasing cars. It's the difference between a sliver and none, but it's a difference.

Meh. He was no worse than Schenn or Gustafsson last season -- all of whom should have been playing ahead of perennial defender (because he cannot transition the game to offense due to a lack of passing ability) Grossmann.

One thing we can agree on: that three-headed monster was brutal

Rinaldo is the last guy I'd task with "testing" a player's health and readiness.

I agree with you there.

Andy Bloom LOVES him. Compares him to Stern to some extent. Talking to Bloom about him was like talking to a brick wall. he isn't going anywhere any time soon.
- nastyflyergirl

I thought he cooked himself when he found out they were moving him to AM for the Phillies games and he had a complete childish melt down on air. He did everything that night to get fired. He was off the air one night and then back at it.

I wouldn't even go that far. Hard to get any kind of flow when you're looking over your shoulder and afraid to make mistakes while other players get exemption.

No dog in this fight now, so... I'm out.

Not in Philly. But Buffalo fans must wonder why they are paying $4 million for him.

So now Rinaldo is laying out his teammates with hits in practices. He knocked Coburn flat today. They need to jettison this piece of donkey feces

Bill who do you think was the better prospect stolarz or pelletier?
- rinaldo

Based on their first half-season or so, Pelletier. But with goalie development, it's all about the long haul.

This NHL.com article is slightly off -- it should the last eight drafts (2007 draft onward), not the last nine drafts -- but is still an eye-opener in show just how long it takes to develop NHL goalies: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=751852

And yet every radio personality in Philly is. The only show worth tuning into is Ray and Glen on Football on the weekends.

Tibbets was a scum bag, but probably had more hockey sense than Rinaldo.
- jmatchett383

Aren't you the Tibbets of hockeybuzz, a scumbag but not as dumb as youarewrong?
