Please, no more draft picks...we have no clue on how to draft players!!
- dom13

Depends on who will be drafting next offseason. More and more I'm doubting that it will be Nonis. If I had to guess on who it will be: Shanny, Dubas....and.....Rob Blake?(keep hearing his name with Shanny)

Leafs have 2 former OHL GM's currently on the staff: It should hopefully help with some more value picks.

Rob Blake is in the front office with the Kings.

As much as I don't like him being in the Kings front office, I don't think he'll be leaving the warm, cup winning beaches of LA for a has been team who hasn't won poop since most of us have been alive that is cold as (frank) in the winter.

Eric Fichaud, Jeff Ware, Luca Cereda, John Doherty, Justin Pogge, so many wasted picks...

I was aware he was there, but heard Shanny was actively pitching for him to come to Toronto, since both were together in the NHL offices.

If I was him, I wouldn't want to leave either, but money talks.

the early picks were more wasted than the later ones(not so much in drafting, but with trades). There was some value found in later picks - Kulemin, Reimer, Gunnarsson, etc.

But Steen, Tlusty, Rask,Boyes and more thrown away for mere trash.

Honestly, I'd be happier if he did leave. So here's to hoping!

Eklund is the best in the business, he knows what he is doing. That's why I think it's a reference to the Devils. They must be the frontrunner to get Franson right now. Sounds like it will come down to the Lightning or the Devils as per Eklund.

Can't say Biggs was worth anything, same goes for Ryan, Ross can at least play 4th lines omeday possibly........but Connor Brown as a 6th rd? Could be a massive steal

you mean Jamie? There were signs of him being a decent 2nd line power forward in the OHL.

Franson may bring back a bigger return than people think...I'm not a huge fan of him myself, but consider this; hes right handed and puts up points.

hoping the leafs can get a good trade here, Yzerman will surely hold his cards tight...look how he got Bishop for example.

Gauthier was drafted as a conservative 3rd line defensive shutdown/pk player, and is on track to being that player so far. Just wasn't a high risk/reward pick, but was a pick that the Leafs needed to make, as it's something that's missing. Not to say it can't be filled in with numerous free agents, but Gauthier specializes in that, and fills a need. Let it play out.

Was solid with the Whalers, before he was drafted. Can't win them all.

It's not like he doesn't have offensive upside either. You really haven't watched this guy, have you?

Blake has been rumored to the Leafs for so long. I remember Sportsnet doing a bit once during a trade deadline broadcast. They said there was a big trade coming and the Leafs were getting a guy whose last name contained B-L-A-K-E.

They weren't wrong. It was Wade Belak.

love it.

Personally, Paul Kariya is the kind of personality I'd like to have around Toronto's front office in some capacity.

Yzerman is a pretty good GM, especially in the wheeling-and-dealing department... but he's not infallible.

That said, even when I'm a little ticked at his trades, lately, they seem to make sense in the end. e.g.: Thompson for nothing and signing Boyle... didn't like it at first but, yup, Yzerman is smarter than I when it comes to team building.
