your assuming yzerman does no trade for a back up goalie. this is a gm that stated the redwings let jimmy howard play 4 full years in the ahl before coming to the nhl. Vasy needs games if bishop is healthy he should be the crunch starter. call up guds instead!

He's played in the pros , he's spent time developing , the khl , not saying it's right or wrong just saying people forget he spent time in the pros before

but it's not the yzerman way to rush a guy in goalies take time. now i'm on board if cooper splits vasy and bishop in starts. but you can't have vasy sitting for two weeks that makes no sense at all.

I say Vasil will start vs. Dallas to give Bishop some rest before LAK and will play on Sunday as well. so this week I say it'll be a 2/2 split for Bishop and Vasil

I always liked Nabby and thought he'd be a good back up this year but it looks like he needs to be playing more to be consistent and that wasn't going to happen here anyway. I know all the Isles fans were glad to see him go but they didn't have the D they have this year and as we know too well unless there is a decent D corp even the best goalies are going to be hung out to dry.Bish covered and still covers a lot of mistakes made game in and game out. Nabby couldn't.
I'm glad they made the move now so Vasy can get some experience in the run up to the playoffs and increased intensity of this time of year. Time to make a nice run through the West.
