Though I don't know if I'd say Schultz's skill set is more rare. Hasn't proved yet that he's more than a 3rd pairing PP specialist, at least in my eyes.

Apologies. Let me rephrase; I believe Schultz's potential skillset is rarer than what Petry brings. Not more important necessarily, but less frequent in defenders.

The way I see it, Petry is of the Hjalmarsson/Seidenberg archetype while Schultz is of the Voynov/Campbell archetype. Assuming he can keep up his current play, I think we have a Seabrook-type Dman in Klefbom and perhaps another in Nurse.

I probably spend as much time looking at possession numbers as you spend on grinder. Believe it or not, it takes about 4 seconds to find out what EDM players corsi numbers are

How is what not applicable? The players switching roles and it WOULD be different because I said so part? While we are at it comparing the two, have you two completely forgot the age difference, and amount of NHL games played between the two?

u mention the improbability of changing of roles. theres a reason for this......because Schultz couldn't handle it. I don't think its just guesswork cause nih said so.
its not like hes never been fed big minutes, he has many times. in fact, even under Eakins there was spike in team play when his minutes got cut/

age and amount of games can surely be taken into account. but I still don't think that Schultz will ever be the type of defender that can play the tough minutes that petry does.
