OEL and Mitch Marner or Dylan Strome dont equal Connor Mcdavid in my opinion.
That would be like trading Eberle and Hall for Crosby. Two B+ players dont equal one A+ player.

Lol not so sure Kopitar and doughty are b+ players. Kopitar is one of the best C's in the game and Doughty is probably the best Dman. You'd be stupid to take Crosby over those two if u ask me

That's kind of my point.... None of them were touted "generational " players, nor were first overall in their draft years.
OEL is a top pair d, entering his prime. He could (repeat, could) get close to Doughty. On a deep draft year a third or fourth overall doesn't get you a player at the level of Kopitar?
I'm not saying "do it" but the thought would need to be entertained

I doubt it,3-4 will probably be a very good nhl player, but to assume they are going to be as good as Kopitar would be foolish. Just setting a kid up for failure. That's the problem with all the comparisons.

I think Arizona would have to seriously think about it, for a franchise as fragile as theirs a Superstar talent like McDavid could save the team. mcDavid alone would add so much value to the franchise. It doesn't matter tho, it'll get rigged and Arizona will win the lottery anyways
