I am teasing. Pety may be gone anyways so no problem giving him up. Edmonton seem to ruin goalies with potential who come there so with the teams high pick this year, not a bad thing to think about moving ebs.

petrys better than gudas without a doubt.
eberles far better than connoly. not even close at this point.

the prize here is vasilevski. and id love to have him, but that's a stretch and fleeces us in all other areas.

petrys willingness to resign comes into play i suppose.

with yaks still an absolute question mark, ebs is our only true snipe.

hes a physical/mean 3rd pairing guy that plays far far easier minutes than petry.
hes not near the skater, doesn't have near the puck moving ability.
their dzone qualities are close i suppose (but again his competition is easier) but even then, he cant move the puck as well as petry and start our breakout. something we cant afford to get worse at.
he looks good on a much deeper dcore.

ive noticed this a few times. because the oilers are bad, this somehow makes people believe petry isn't any good.

hed be fantastic 3 on many teams. id even be comfortable with him as a 2 if he had a true 1 in front of him.

Gudas is good but he's not as good as Petry. He's still young enough to get there but as of now he's got some work to do before he'd be our best defender.

I'd consider, maybe try to swap Connolly for someone else-Paquette maybe

but can we really afford to lose eberle for a huge drop off?

no doubt we have needs that supercede scoring wingers (goalie/defence), but people forget, we struggle to score too.
and now that perron is gone, i really don't think we can afford to lose eberle.
at least until yakupov proves he can score more than 12 pts in 45 games
