I had this one friend that just kept signing into like 1-3 month short term leases. You better believe he asked me to help every time. Current me wouldn't have been as nice as I was then.

Moving sucks balls but it's a great way to see who your friends are. That being said I'd rather take 2 days and do 95% of it myself then ask anybody. I just mention it out loud casually and see who offers some help.

My bro in law is like (frank)ing Houdini when it comes to moving day. When I moved into this house he showed up at the very end claiming he couldn't find my house although he and my sister in law were building on the same street at the time LOL

He is petrified of manual labour tho.

Movers can do in 2 hours what would take me an entire day to move. They are true artists.

it's not even the work that bothers me. it's how you have 45 boxes and after you put 10 in the truck you come back and it seems like there's still 45 boxes. it breaks my mind how it never seems like it's ever going to end.

these people that my family use went in my aunt's full house of packed boxes and a bunch of furniture and had the truck loaded in 20 minutes. it was outrageous.

It's a thankless chore, no doubt. I hate the packing and unpacking more than the moving part. So tedious. Like, lets just burn this place to the ground and start over someplace else AMIRIGHTLOL?
