Yes. Still owed a lot of cash.

Farnham isn't a NHLer. Lapierre, despite being a wiener, is a decent player.

I think they just need to look at a different format. The guys just go through the motions in the game. I suspect if you Asked the fans in cbj if they were disappointed Crosby wasn't there they'd say yes. If He's the chosen one he has to be more of an ambassador in instances like these.

That's fair, but he usually does do all sorts of stuff to help the league. Onething Crosby isn't is Marshawn Lynch

That was probably MacDonalds best offensive game this year.

Hoist on my own petard

At the same time Lapierre has a bit of talent. I guess the Pens don't want their tough guy getting his ass handed to him by a French guy who had never fought before

I like the way he plays.
I never realized he was such a turd though.

Meh. The way I see it draft position is pretty much the same value in this draft from 4 to like 15 and there are at least 4 teams in the league that are much worse then the Flyers and will finish below them regardless of what the Flyers do sans losing 28, 93, and 35 at the same time. So hoping for McDavid or Eichle is a pipe dream unless they get lucky on lottery day. They already have a very promising set of d prospects and a young forward core and a very good goalie. The future is bright already and whatever they get in this draft is icing on the cake. They just need some tweeking here and there and to shed a contract or 2 and add a few picks in this draft and maybe a new coach (for the record I'm not in the "Berube is the anti-christ crowd") and they're golden. Winning is more valuable to this team then losing.
- JonnyHammerstix

I agree on the winning. You don't want to start a culture of losing that you can't get out of. See the oilers. I was thinking. With a lot of solid d pospects now, I wonder if they go for a young winger in the draft?

Hhaha. That's true. I still hope Seattle wins. I hate the pats almost as much as I do the flyers rivals.

I really hope that's the reason they went out and weakened their team with this trade.

I find it funny. I know the media has a job to do, but they also need to get over themselves at times. Steve Carlton didn't talk to the press for over a decade and was beloved here.

Oh God yeah...go ahead, goon up and weaken the team to face the Flyers in the regular season, and lose in round one, yet again

I definitely agree the media needs to lighten the hell up sometimes. But he's the top running back on the defending super bowl champs on they're way back to the super bowl again and he's making more money then most of us will ever see in our lifetimes. Grow up a little and answer the questions. The league threatening to fine him is absurd tho. The NFL has become a clown show lately.

Explain this chart to me?

I'm still learning.

Yes, I'm serious. I'd like to actually know how to use adv stats.

The whole thing is clownshoes, no doubt. If the dude doesn't want to talk to the media, just excuse him. Most guys still relish it, because it's a chance to get their mug in the paper

Color shows Corsi relativity to the team. The bluer the better. The redder the worse.

Y-axis shows quality of competition. X-axis is the ratio of offensive to defensive zone starts.

Size of circle shows ice time I believe.

For a full analysis, you'd need to look at linemates and some other things as well

Lapierre is pretty terrible though

Basically, when Goc is on the ice, he's facing tougher competition and the Pens are allowing fewer shot attempts than the Blues were when Lapierre was on the ice, playing against weaker competition.

So a high Corsi is good, because it's hinting toward the fact that the player's team is allowing less shots than "normal" with him on the ice?

So here Goc's Corsi for was like 45 or whatever, if I remember correctly.

Quantify that. Does that mean the team allows 30% less shots with that player on the ice?

when you say less effective, are you implying that goc was less/more effective?
