Crosby ++, obviously.
but for real, I've been asking for months, they never answer. all they can ever say is "overpayment" - SpoiledByOil
They never will. What theyll do is make pretend they actually know what the return will be like they'd the GM of the team. They will then go on to tell you,"fine we will keep him then" like they have some say in the matter and reject the next gross overpayment trade proposal. I hope he gets traded just so we can all get a good laugh at the return. |

As do I. I rather enjoyed the laughs I got when Kessler and Spezza 's returns came in a lighter than what Nucks/Sens fans were expecting. It's a guilty pleasure. |

Or when the Bruins blogger, who's work I enjoy for the record, suggested that Kyle Okposo would be the starting point of a trade for Johnny Boychuk. |

Hers the deal. With salary caps and no movement clauses it will always be a buyers market.theres a small window between the draft and 2 weeks into free agency where you can get the greatest return to your investment, but even then, 30 or 40% of the teams have no cap flexibility.
And if you have limited NMC? Forget about it. Take your list of 10 and assume 5 have no interest. Okay so of the 5 that are interested, 4 have no space. Now you have 1 team to deal with and a player that wants out. You'll take this poopty prospect and medium pick and like it Jabroni!!! |

Bailey has actually played mostly well this season, so it's not quite as funny to make stupid trade proposals with him as the centerpiece anymore |

Not to mention if we are going to lose Petry, Bailynis probably more useful to the Oilers than a 3rd round pick. Then we sign Boychuck in free agency and were ahead of the game. |

Go ahead that won't bother me. He should be a UFA in approximately 2021 after we lock him up for 6 or so years. - eichiefs9
I was just kidding. If I were Boychuck I would mos deF re-sign with the Islanders. Good a chance at another cup as any in the next few years , IMO. |

I know. For once, I'm actually confident that someone of value will re-sign. Leddy is an RFA so I was never all that worried about him, but Boychuk was originally a big concern. Of course, I know jack (youknowwhat), but it seems like he is happy here and, yes this is odd, his brother has been a big hit with Isles fans on twitter. He's dropped some hints here and there that Boychuk will be signing long term. It's certainly not Bob McKenzie saying it's a done deal but it's enough to ease my mind a little. |

Except we are echoing what the GM actually said. We aren't making anything up. Murray said it would take a massive offer to get him. He's not trying to trade the guy. |

His brother Sammy? That dudes a (frank)ing Jabroni, or at least he was when we were in grades 4 and 5. It's possible he changed. |
