They don't need another center...
- WaterBoy

Yeah, and this was in support of your statement. THey don't need another center, but the Habs can't land another center without unloading at least one.

One team can never have too many good centers.

They could unload the unnecessary ones they have.

This also applies to 6-7th dmen, according to Bergevin.

I doubt there are teams lining up for the unnecessary Habs centers.

Pretty sure Desharnais holds value. Especially with his cap hit.

Habs are buyers. They won't be moving roster players at the deadline unless it is to make room for an acquisition.

Vanek didn't cost a roster player. Neither will a guy like Vermette.

I'd try to get Boedker, not Vermette.

So what ended happening?

So, who's right?

- TouenneTiiTree

I thought we were talking about the play with 5 minutes left in the game, in the context of what the right play was AT THE TIME; I didn't know we were talking about hindsight. In that case, it was clearly Seattle's goal to fall behind 16-0 at the half, have their QB toss more interceptions than completions to his own team, sport a QB rating under 10.0 until the 4th quarter, as this was all part of their plan to lull GB into a false sense of security.

What a sly coach, that Pete Carroll is.

Honestly I haven't really seen him play since he was with the Sens.

It was an example of adding a roster guy that has flexibility to play wing or center and solid two way play without subtracting the bodies the Habs will likely need to survive the playoffs.

I love Vermette. Versatile player.
Plekanec-Vermette-Desharnais is not bad.
Galchenyuk requested to play wing, so be it.

I'm not talking about hindsight...I said it has he went down yesterday. I understand the logic behind it (sliding)...but it was too early in the game. The game was not sealed-up at that time, but the acted as if it were. Plus McCarthy went all conservative on the 2 drives trying to "eat-up clock"...which resulted in two 3-n-outs which only compounded the previous mental-error.

The end result validates my point...

So, it's hindsight, but you just don't want to call it hindsight? Okay, you win.
