Great. He was one of our best players ever.

Still a douche.

It's too bad you can no longer question the late, great Jim Kelley, because he spotted Hasek's BS a mile away.

- grand-magus

Most people are douches at one time or another. Let it go. Ted Nolan did. I really could care less what he was off the ice . I did not hang out with him . All the matters to me is what he did on the ice here at this point. It is in the past. And you were never directly involved. Were You ?

Ok. When will be our expected "it was worth it" moment?
- Buffalo-Sabres

When we don't finish ninth again and don't get to draft a superstar . Just another alright player.

Touche but im more referring to when they had weber and Sutter back there. They lacked any high-end forward talent. Eventually something has to give. We have some nice prospects but he need that elite scorer.

Then we take Hanifin and have the best D in the league?
- Herzeleid

The Sabres with 76 goals scored in 44 games striving to have very arguably the "best D in the league."

I sneaked out to the jeep to hear a bit of the game on the radio

RJ said the sabres had put Hasek on waivers before he became a beast. All I can say is wow.

I get Sarcasm. We all get sarcasm. It helps people dodge hard questions they don't want to answer.

they are on pace to tank for the 2016 draft as well

looks like a winger will probably be taken first at that draft

I don't get why you care so much what my feelings are of him? It's fine if you care to overlook them. I can't. That's me.

I can't stand the guy. Can't revel in his awesome accomplishments when his obvious character flaws were on display time and time again.

Again. Just me. Best goalie ever? Probably. But, I choose not to lick his sac and add to the hero worship of a guy who was a fantastic athlete, but questionable human being. And no, I wasn't there. It's been highly and widely publicised what he's done.

Same goes for Mike Vick. And ask Rob Ray what he thinks of Phil Housley.

Third time, Max. Just MY feelings toward Hasek.

I'm not now, nor have I, shoved my opinion of Hasek down your - or anybody's - throat.

I did a quick google check and did not find it. I am sure it is in an article somewhere.

Reinhart - Armia - Ennis - Girgs - Grigs -

Baptiste - Bailey - Lemieux - Compher - Fasching

The other 4 picks in the first 2 rounds

I'd say we would have a better offense with that then what Nashville has.

Since everyone has beef with my comments, answer me this. What if we pick 3rd this year? Then what?
- Buffalo-Sabres

Lotsa stuff would go into figuring that. We need help up front, clearly still need a #1 center. If murray doesnt doesnt see marner, strome, zacha, or barzal as the guy, he takes hanifin and moves myers or ristolainen for a first line winger to play with reinhart. Then hopefully next year at this time we arent hoping to win the austin matthews lottery.

Everyone has answered your hard questions . The question has always been are you willing to endure short term pain for long term success of the franchise . A lot of us have answered . Yes why not . Nothing else has worked . Let's do what Pittsburgh and Chicago did . Seems to have worked there . I know but it did not work in Edmonton . That is because there was no plan behind it . They did not plan to suck . They always just do and have implemented no real plan.

Other than reinhart, and maybe armia and girgensons, none of those guys are projected to be first line players let alone elite scorers. We need top line talent. If we dradt hanifin something has to give.

You didn't answer the questions. What about picking third, like we are statistically most likely to do?That even after losing 10 of 11 games. Other question was is this a system that is broken? That a team which is sound in every aspect of the business, has to stoop so low to sabatoge it's own product for an undefined amount to time to achieve its goals.

moving forward we have 2 knowns IMO

Girgens and Ennis are second line NHL players on really good teams

That leaves 4 spots open up front and if we assume reinhart becomes a known, we have 3 spots left and 1 filled with our first rd pick

everything else regarding prospects is nothing more then hype that as a buffalo fan, I need to see to believe

I don't hold your beliefs but I find it interesting to hear your opinion and what they are based on.

I didn't like that Hasek threatened the Sabres with retirement if he wasn't traded and it had to be to a certain team for certain players so it wouldn't hurt the Red Wings chance of winning the Cup. If Darcy had any balls he should have traded Hasek to a good team but who gave the best offer. If he retired, which he obviously wasn't going to do since he only retired a few years ago, so be it.
