Yes it does.

Nolan is not afraid to pull the goalie. I don't know if it is a true never give up attitude or just a show.

Boring!!! Bottled up, throw it out to center so the opposition can do it again. Rinse, repeat, the whole game.

Nice...
Now if only Edmonton can get it together
I can't believe they are this bad. I really thought this would be the year Edmonton would start to compete for the playoffs. The defense & the goaltending has just been so awful... Ugh

Oil only down three and already have 10 shots on goal.

What a mess.

It is looking very likely we pick top 3 in the first round and then two more times in the last 4 of the 1st

I know a lot of people have mentioned this. But I will say I was in my early teens during his prime. I didn't care about all that crap and really never heard about it. I only cared about the hockey. To me he is and always will be a legend. That is all.

39 here, raining, temps going down, lots of school districts hours ago setup 2-hour delays to avoid icy roads. I'll be on the road at 6:15 anyways...

Won't be this year, all vacation/money is being used for a big family trip to Disney this winter. Next time up will probably be for the Draft.

So essentially what happened tonight:

A larger than normal crowd, announced 19,070, looked more like 17,000, came out to a game on the coldest night of the year to snatch a free banner(pretty sweet I might ad) and to see an actual star hockey player on the ice that had once played for us. The crowd I didn't think was as loud for Dom as I expected, but then I remembered we have the least inspiring current team of all time. Right before the banner went up, some guy screamed "NO GOAL" and it was amazing. Other than that you had a packed house of unexcited people watching a game with a very predictable outcome. 17,000+ people already got what they paid for and were essentially staying for the abuse they know they would get. Even in Detroit's goals, for all the Wings jerseys I saw, their goal celebrations were less than half hearted. Mike Weber and Co. did score an amazing goal which no one expected.

Top 4 loudest crowd moments:

1) Dom
2) Weber's team goal
3) When the garbage totes go 'round on the scoreboard, people who watched it all screamed 2
4) Detroit rings a loud shot off the post, late in the 3rd period while already dominating the game

At no point was there any fantasy that we could win or even complete in the game. We merely have a system to minimize the damage for the sake of doing it.

Rant over

It's what is needed if this team is ever to become a championship caliber one.

All these folks that call him a douchebag go by second and third hand stories. He was greatan gave us lots of amazing memories to talk about. All this other stuff is just unfounded gossip. Who here had a real douchebag experience themselves with Hasek and it is just not some urban legend that was passed on him? So he wanted to be on a winner? The Rigas boys were to busy building private golf courses for themselves rather than helping this team get better so Hasek would want to stat.

So he

A) didn't quit on his team during the playoffs?

B) assault a Buffalo News employee?

C) didn't basically write Ted Nolan's ticket out of town?

D) drive his car head-on into the median on the 33 because he was hammered?

E) snub the Sabres, who gave him his opportunity to start in the NHL, when he said, "I'll be a Red Wing FOREVER"?

2nd hand stories?

Nah.

Douche?

Yep.

Is it?

If it is its evidence of a broken system. Teams like Chicago and Pittsburgh were bad because of bad all around management. Both teams lost tons of fan support as a result. Both acquired generational star talent and simultaneously got their act together. Both on the ice and in fan report. Edmonton acquired generational talents and refuses to get its act together and its Canada so fan support is inevitable.

The Sabres have good intentions, good fan support, good owners ship, fantastic financial situation and good management. Why should they have to stoop so low?

By those standards, Barnaby is a douche, Jim Kelly is a douche, Rob Ray is a Duche, Darryl Talley is a Douche, Andre Reed is a douche, Bruce Smith is a Douche and many more Buffalo legends are Duche's.

Dude is hard core drunk. Thats what you get with hardcore drunks. Besides who hasn't wanted to assault a Buffalo News employee from time to time. Can't hate him because he actually had the balls to do it.
