Would you be willing to trade Coots for their 1st this year? Could be top-10 when all is said and done.

No, Coots was himself a top 10 pick and fell from top 5. No way. B Schenn for Morgan Reilly and other moving parts is interesting. Sure would hate to see another JVR disaster though.

I'd rather keep Couturier. We know what we have, and no need to go back to ground zero to start the development process all over again.

I would do that for B Schenn. Coots would be tough.

Of course, trading Coots would absolutely suck... but then you look at the quality at the top of this draft class

Maybe 2 top 10 picks gets you McDavid or Eichel...if I made the trade to get a second top 10, that'd be my next step.

I am torn because I want the Flyers to get a high draft pick, but I also want Zepp to never lose a game.

if that's the plan, there has to be a better of way of doing it. just suck more than they do already. don't have to give up Coots for that.

True.

I lean towards saying no, but it is tempting to consider. I also think that Couturier will be the second line center next season, and playing a more two way role, closer to that of Patrice Bergeron, and will put up good numbers, with Laughton assuming some of the heavy defensive lifting.

Have Braydon Coburn steamroll him 5 or 6 times tonight

It was the same thing when Couturier dropped to the Flyers at #8 and he was the steal of the draft. Only player I'd trade Couturier for is a #1 defenseman.

He's at least 2 2nd rounders in a future trade

That's what I envision also. I'd like to see the Flyers start working that in down the stretch. Put Couturier is better offensive situations, and get Laughton some experience in the 3rd line checking role. Really would like to see the Flyers add a winger with some speed and play making ability to the mix in the near future, for the 2nd line.

Probably even more, maybe two 2nds and a mid level prospect. Guys like Coburn or Streit, if they move, it would be to land a bigger return. If they decide to move them, they need to sell as high as possible.

The same is true for any deals, but those two have the most value.

I'd love to see a deal with Edmonton that gets them the Pens' top pick and maybe a prospect.

Hell, I'd like Timonen to come back. He comes in, plays 10-15 games, he'd probably be worth a high pick, too
