What he should have done is laid out step by step what moves they would like to make so as to give all the GM's and agents the upper hand in future negotiations.

My guess is they play this out closer to the trade deadline and if we're out of the playoff picture, it's fire sale time.

If not, another painful off-season, but with cap space and UFAs gone, we might be able to move guys like Phaneuf, Kessel, Bozak, and Lupul.
