Leafs should try to get RoR if he is at all available
Any combination of Dion/Lupul/Bozak and prospect plus salary dump back (Briere?)
Avs would want Rielly or Nylander to start the convo

ah dreams

- senstroll

yeah I guess yesterday the rumour was Rielly was the starting point. He would have to be the starting point since the salries nowhere near balance.

I bet the ask was Rielly + Kadri or something for O'Reilly... that isn't happening. No other team will offer that much either.

The talk probably went to Rielly + Bozak. I don't do that dealeither. The salaries still don't balance and I really would like to see RoR on the Leafs but to trade away Rielly, I would need a really good young #1 Center coming back.

I bet the Leafs countered with Phaneuf for RoR, which Colorado won't do. I wonder if we could add a bit to make it happen? Colorado could definitely use Phaneuf.

It isn't about the pick for me because I know damn well that the Leafs are drafting 9th.

It is about being bad enough that they have no choice but to realize that Nonis needs to go, and so does most of the core.

This most recent iteration of a rebuild has failed. There are some decent, not spectacular young pieces in the organization. Time to start over, just about from ground zero.

Not all rebuilds lead to cups.

Plus a good GM should be able to keep his team competitive despite not having a top 5 pick every year.

Just sucks to think that instead of Ross, Biggs and Percy (who I like), we could have Toffoli, Saad, and Jenner

Crazy that a 1st line C could only average 52 points a year playing with Phil Kessel!!!!
- BINGO!

49 in 58 same amount of points as our next C in 20 less games

30 points in 1/2 a season and playing like dirt right now

i figure we gotta move out a C

so either kadri or bozie and ive always like kadri better + we drafted him and hes canadian

nobody wants clarkson w that bogus contract! and rielly is hopefully our cornerstone D man...id hold onto him

- Lucas Neilson

yes...I'd rather move Bozie than Kadri too, Bozak / Rielly might get it done..not gonna get ROR for junk. IMO

Wow, just reading my own comment and just (frank)ing bummed about this.

Whoever our North American scout is should be fired immediately. Euro scout seems to do OK in getting value late, but that NA guy is absolute garbage

I wish I could electrify it. My kid has no interest in boys at all right now, but some of her friends and dance mates are boy crazy already and sneaking around to meet up with guys who look to be a couple years older than them. I'm scared but thankful my kid isn't maturing as fast as some of these other girls.

It is sad, but I try not to play that game because every team could come up with something similar, including the teams that got Toffoli, Saad and Jenner.

Our drafting has not been horrible, when we have actually had picks.

yeah, Biggs was a total fail. Schenn was an almost disaster but we turned that into JVR. Kadri is a question mark, but he actually looks like it may not be too bad of a pick. Nylander has a great amount of skill and could be a great pick. Unfortunately we have a team with no physical character so I hope we keep him away from the Leafs until we do.

So far the tell us Rielly is a non- starter for the Leafs. and I like that.
I doubt Avs are hard up for a C back given that ROR isn't playing C for them anyway.

I do. They're rather depressed right now.

I also worry about the Hurricanes themselves... the team is getting healthy and poopkicked the Sabres last night. This is not an encouraging development.

yeah katie knows im heavy into fishing and hockey, so il always get my 1 hockey game per week until my body quits on me.

and in the spring/summer im usually able to get out once a week for some action.

i fish 5 days a week on work lunch so il always get some action

- Lucas Neilson

Your lunch schedule is awesome. The choice to not fish or play as much hockey, ball, curling, golf was all mine. Had a tough time leaving the family after a long day of work...then they start into their activities as they get older...and you never stop.
A buddy of mine said about his kids. "One is one, but 2 is 10."

Not trading Rielly for RoR.

If he is part of a package for Duchene, Mackinnon or RNH, I do it.

Phaneuf for RoR actually makes sense if people take off the Leafs hate glasses. I think you move Phaneuf to Colorado where he isn't the captain they are a better team after the trade.
