its actually unlikely.

do tell....

so the 18 Wheeler went off the cliff last year - what after the Olympic break essentially - because Phil was crying about not winning gold and making the cheeseburger buns damp...

and they went from what 3rd or 4th in the East to drafting what 8th or 7th.

so it is not possible for this collection of stout, highly motivated athletes to mail it in starting in January?

they could easily finish bottom five.

Like global warming.

Definitely real, but should (IMO) be more correctly termed "climate change". Not everywhere will necessarily get warmed individually, but the overall average surfact temperature of the Earth is increasing.

did you know all the other planets in the solar system are also getting warmer?

I think the solar system is going through a warmer region of space.

but in all honesty...one would look at all the crap that is being spewed into the air... and determine that, that is probably not the best for the planet.

yup... but that is the kind of non-scientific observation that people can't accept because they have an agenda.

so - have you got "advanced stats" to back up you in-game observations?

Of course. The key is to (a) identify better, more efficient technologies that can achieve what we need with less waste generated, and (b) be appropriately conservative with what we do use (he says, with all the lights in the house turned on.... )

I'm using the words consensus and science in their literal meanings, not as a buzzword combination. In this case, consensus being that of multiple experts based on expertise (not opinion) and solid analysis of data. Scientific consensus is not poop, it is necessary. The key is to amass enough proof to back up one's findings. Naturally, reproducibility is key here, but the onus has to be on the investigator in question to be impartial. It is when people are driven by what they want to find, not what they observe, that people reach what Dr. Chrichton has dubbed "consensus science".
