Leafs won Corsi last night! Luckily this is unsustainable and once they start losing Corsi again they will win games!

I didn't see the game but saw the "by the numbers" this morning. Hilarious that they win out in almost every stat category but get poop kicked. Maybe they need to let 40+ shots on goal to win?

but Bernier is not going to let in 5 goals on 25 shots every time

just a rough example..if he can say go .910 and the leafs can limit teams to 30 a game
thats an improvement over going .920 on 36-40 shots

30 shots @ .910 = 221 goals/82
37 shots @ .920 = 243 goals/82

we will see ..give it 10-15 games before we start to draw conclusions

I wouldn't know if this is the case or not. we haven't seen it for more than a period at a time.

And only some of the more general stats show that the Leafs won. If you factor in "score-close" variables then it was a pretty even game (caps slight edge). Leafs piled on the possession in the 3rd when the game was out of reach and the Caps had already packed it in. Zone starts were heavy in the Caps favour all night too.
