i think he was calling out more than the forwards - DoubleDown
Glad someone is stepping up. The unfortunate thing about leading, is they also have to lead by example on the ice...and this team seems to have few who are truly capable. |

leafs had a better game last night.. good start to the no RC era - senstroll
I'm going to try to hold off on any proclamations for a week or two b/c this team and it's results are so (frank)ing confusing. I can only imagine a day when the analytics and the results actually converge.
In a game where they appear to have played a better/tighter more committed game at least the flaws and gaffs were more identifiable.
How were the pssn numbers for each line last night? Anything stand out? |

This coming from a Reverend....
3 Hail Mary's and 2 Our Fathers. - Woderwick
I am not saying we need a goon terds. We need scrappy, gritty, defensively sound players. And for everyone who thinks this kind of approach is oldschool... are you saying you want more David Booths, Kessels, Raymonds, Gardiners, etc? This Team is SOFT. Take out LEO and POLAK and we are soft as butter in July... Do you guys not see the other teams laughing at us? We are the easiest team to play against in the NHL. We need heart and soul guys. Other teams need to know that we might not win every game, but we will make you bleed if you want to win.
Guys like Leo, Polak, Carrick, Winnik.... thats the closest guys we have to these types of players and its sad... |

The Leafs and my golf game are very similar. One day I can drive the ball, but I can't putt. Next day I can putt but I can't chip worth a hoot. A complete game seems unthinkable. |

I looked around but couldn't find any game-by-game advanced stats. I think they only release them when the Leafs have REALLY bad corsi. Or fenwick? I dont know.

What would the last 41 games have to look like to get a top 3-4 pick?
16-22-3? - TheThrill
I just dont see it happening.. unless they trade lots of players away
Shanny doesnt seem to operate quickly
expect a bubble team with a pick in the 8-14 range |

Let me get this right....
When Wilson says Kessel isn't reliable, he's a bitter old man who couldn't win with the Leafs. But when he defends Kessel, he's 100% right about his assessment?
You guys are pretty funny, I have to say. - Pecafan Fan
Nah, he is just nuts sometimes.
Amazing how he doesn't see the crater sized hole in this rebuttal though. |

But you want McLaren back up. - Woderwick
That is because... WHO ELSE DO WE HAVE?
This team needs a trade to change the makeup. To much skilled, soft players. I would make a play for Richards in LA. You wouldn't have to give up much for him and he has lots of game left and could be a nice 2nd line center in our weak Eastern Conference. |

That would be fine, if and only if Kadri takes Bozak's spot on the top PP unit. I seriously give up. |
