Hey man, we gotta get a franchise center somehow. It's literally the only way. Whether it's McDavid, Eichel or Strome, (preferably in that order) they gotta get there. |

Randy hasn't been a good coach since 2007.
Listen, I'm more than happy to meet halfway and say the players are a bunch of self-entitled (frank)wads. But I won't absolve Randy of all blame. - TheThrill
I agree as well. |

clarkson, gardiner, bozak, lupul
those are the main guys i'd like to see gone. i wish them luck. - daeth
I think you move Clarkson, Bozak, Lupul, Robidas, Reimer regardless of the return. You even take back bad salary as long as it is less salary and/or less term.
Realistically you probably can't move Clarkson or Lupul for anything, unless you take back at least as bad a contract, if there even is such a thing.
You move Gardiner and Komarov for a "hockey trade". You can't expect that you get full value of what Gardiner's upside may be. That kind of thinking leads Craig Mactavish to start throwing around BS excuses like "pennies on the dollar" and "won't bargain in good faith".
I would also move JVR if the return was good. I think he is at peak value and the fact that he is invisible to me most night means he's part of the "culture" problem
I am not opposed to doing a Buffalo Sabres-like Blow this sh1t up. I seriously would rather watch a team that at least played with some heart and seemed to have a bright future, than watch half our team mail it in every night.
Are there any franchise players coming up in the draft the next few years?

And what has he done to get this team to be "legit" again?
Besides firing a good coach because the players on the team cannot follow a system. - Fakepartofme
how long has shanny been here?
cmon
and carlyle a good coach?
we talking about the same coach who ran out of town our only possession line? or the same coach that didnt call a time out in a game 7 meltdown?
yeah, he's a real gem.
Ron Wilson could have won a cup with that ducks team...ron (frank)ing wilson. |

This year there is several! Getting one of them would be huge.

Like I said last night, last night Bernier lost the game. Goalies are entitled to poop the bed once in awhile.
I liked the style of play the leafs showed last night. Also how active the coaches were behind the bench.
What I hated was the line selection......and like I said last night, when are they actually going to give the Kadri/Kessel pairing a real shot at being successful, and not break it up after one period. Like I;m sorry, but sticking a guy who has all of 2 goals this year on that top line and being surprised that it fails? Why does Bozak get to play with JVR and Kessel....but whenever its Kadri with Kessel you see fourth liners thrown on the other wing?
I liked things about last nights game, but the line selection and use of players needs some work. And for Christ sakes, remove Bozak from the #1 PP unit and stick Kadri there. |

I've said this all year long. I've seen the multitude of line combinations from everyone on here and every one of them depressed me...no way this lineup brings fear to any opponent regardless of how you combo them up. It's poop. |

A horse like Polak would fit well with all the goons we are going to call up for our TANKtank.
Just gonna beat up every other team en route to McDavid. Do whatever we can to damage them for playoffs while securing ourselves a top 3 pick |

I think this team plays better when it has 3 nhl centers......once you drop to two, it starts to really suck. That said, I wish there was a way to acquire RoR and still keep Kadri.
If I was assessing this team on who I would keep for next year:
C-Kadri, Holland
LW-JVR, Komarov
RW-Kessel, Santorelli
D-Phaneuf, Polak, Rielly, Franson
G-Bernier
*Nylander, Brown, Leivo, Percy, Loov challenge for spots
Everything else can go. |
