This whole Kessel thing is stupid. If this team wasnt in Toronto the whole world wouldnt be exploding. Kessel is a rare talent. sure he has his issues. But so do hundreds of other players in this league. It just gets blow overboard because its TO.

Frankly I think the media and unfair expectations the media has on the Leafs is why they havent been good for so long. Take this team out of that market and they're a better team.

The media can be dumb at times but with this - they are bang on. Kessel is a stud..but a stud piece to a contending solid team. Not a core guy. So either you miraculously trade the whole team of untradeable contracts for good players to support him..or you move kessel. It's purgatory with this roster. Or you can TRY to rebuild by blowing it up. Not guaranteed success, but worth a shot since this team is guaranteed (proven over and over) to not have nearly what it takes to win.

Leafs are in for a long, painful rebuild. Buffalo like. Should have started at the draft and i've said that repeatedly. This next stretch should send this market into practical suicide watch. the next 5 games are (i should say 'should' i guess) absolutely going to be ugly. Then it will get very interesting.

You're right about should have starting the rebuild earlier though. Especially in this draft year. Mcdavid and Eichal are huge draws to begin with. But this could be one of the best drafts in recent memory.

i think shanny is good because he knows a winning attitude and he sees none of it on this roster. He looks past just skill. He's probably losing it watching this roster.

The time to start it was at the draft before dion's ntc kicked in. I'm not a dion hater, but he has to go. From then it would be easier to move guys and have a direction. This was the same team from last year with a few plugs added in. Same coach. What did everyone think was gonna happen? At least with a few rebuilded pieces this team will be watchable regardless of the standings. No intrigue right now as 1) no chance of contending 2) not many (maybe 2-3) on this roster will be here when we are competing. We all know how this ends.

Take the TNT to this mess already.
