You should try driving in Toronto during the first snowfall of the year when 50% of the drivers are seeing snow for the first time in their lives

Everything you think you know about that lawsuit is wrong:

You want to give Lupul away for nothing and give up assets to acquire Jagr? I'm not sold on this plan.
- 1979AD

Day after day when i see these posts from the same users, makes me want to jump ship.

I'm too cynical though, if im at the store and see a man decked out in maple leafs crap i immediately try and avoid him. I just start thinking...

" this guy probably wants to trade lupul and bring in a guy like jagr"

The Bolland trade was much more of a mistake overall than most will admit.
At the time I was good with it, I somewhat still bought into the leadership stuff.. thought (read hoped) it was actually a thing and would work out.

He came to the leafs with a 3.2 cap hit... that was actually about what he was worth..as we can see..and a good indication of why Chicago was able to let him go, despite scoring a cup winning goal. Bolland has lived off that goal and gotten a reputation as a clutch player with loads of intangibles and leadership. Even though we can see now he is just an average player with no super human leadership clutchiness qualities...he tends to get injured often..which further deflates his value imo. like lupul you are paying 5.5mil for 60 games..

ad to that the fact the leafs bought out Grabo and used up a valuable compliance buyout.. only to have to move 3 draft picks to replace him.

its these compounding errors that make Nonis a terrible GM like you state.. no foresight.. no patience like he preaches he has.. just bad at his job

- senstroll

that Bolland trade is a trade you make if you're SJ or St Louis or Pittsburgh... a team so close that just can't get over the hump. you don't trade 3 draft picks for a pending UFA 3rd liner when you just made the playoffs for the first time in 9 years. as for Clarkson, well the only GM that offered him a similar contract was Craig MacTavish. surprised Nonis is still there, TBH.
