He's not the force he once was.

He was once arguably 1st line center on team Canada.

He'll never be to that level again.

- Lee Denault

oh he'll be first line centre on team Canada once the Leafs trade for him

we might have discovered a problem... management built a bad team... they havent surrounded Kessel with the right mix...

Better trade Kessel to fix this problem

- senstroll

I like Kessel and all, but he does have the odd fault. I know you think its the teams fault...JVR/Bozak/Kessel were the hottest line in hockey for a good stretch, the personnel hasn't changed...what has?

Would we have made the playoffs more without making that trade? Do you think that trade is the reason Boston beat us?

I didn't and don't like the trade either. The fact is, it was not horrible, it is debateable that it was even a bad trade.

im just stating facts.

I am not real sure we are much better off with Hall or Seguin + Hamilton + Knight(?)

Yeah, maybe today we are a little better off, but we won that trade for the first 5 years.

- Aetherial

True if you measure by output.

If you consider the potential lost opportunity to have better draft picks over each of the past 5 years (because let's face it, the team has squandered those 5 years of production), then the Leafs are worse off from that trade.

I was simply trying to point out that Nonis did make some good moves as well.. and he did take some risks - such as Bolland.

Obviously he has also done some really dumb things.

- BorjeFan4Ever

You're right he has taken some risk.

I know you weren't quoting me but I meant he doesn't take the risk in making moves like Nill in Dallas has done. Nonis wouldn't have moved Lupul, Gauthier and whatever else for Seguin. He probably wouldn't even make the call.

He spoke about the players not being safe in his press conference about Carlyle. If I were a player on his team I'd laugh at it. He doesn't make big moves.

Suter
Chara? I know he's slowing and had an injury this year but still viable.
Gio?
Seabrook is a better overall D than Keith
Burns
Subban
Yandle
Kronwall
Hedman

( this is directed at you, just guys that could be considered #1's or close )

- Garnie

suter ok sure i guess he could be, but his best hockey year was with #1 Weber
chara - hes washed up now compared to the beast he was
gio - yeah hes a good leader and puts up points, id consider him a #1.
seabrook is 100% CHI #2 d man im not goona argue that lol
burns meh - hes half wing half d - but cant put up karlsson points
subban yeah hes a #1 D man - still makes a lot of mistakes, reminds me of a dion in his younger days a bit
yandle is good but not sure id put him up with keith, weber etc
kronwall - yeah - he does the job - but hes nothing amazing
hedman is finally coming into his own, this is his first great season if u ask me
