Thats just it, if the wings offer him 4, they already offered him 3.5 i think, and the leafs offer 6, and it's a 5 year deal, i think he would have a hard time turning down 10 or 12 million dollars... - aminnes
This could happen. Until someone digs up some dirt on how Shanny and Babcock don't get along. Where's Robin? |

exactly.. and look how opportunistic snow was... able to land grabo and kuli.. guys.. who.. were growing as professionals together ... guys the leafs should of kept moving forward with .. but oh no.. its the damn leafs.. and they have to "speed things up" by looking for outside help.. all the f'n well damn time - Dozzer
If the Leafs were currently paying Grabo and Kule a combined 10mill/yr we'd be burning Nonis at the stake right now.
These are the type of players/contracts you bring in when your young core is ready for the bigtime. |

They were certainly a nice addition to the core of youth they already had, playing together for 4 years. - bixll
yep, i agree 100%
leafs should have kept the grabo/kule/mac line and played them 15 mins a game.
they rarely got scored on but would have the puck a lot and would go through hot/cold stretches putting up points.
problem was then...we had orr/mclaren/mcllement
and 0 defense. |

i liked his game too, a lil dirty but skilled.
roberts
tucker
those are the guys i liked on the leafs.
thats why i like leo - Lucas Neilson
Leo ever drop his mittens, in the NHL ??? I don't think he is their league. Tucker today would be a light weight.. But he would fight the middle weights and get smoked. |

nowhere, I just suspect it myself in my wisdom mea ha ha ha... ... I don't think he would want to be elsewhere, but he would be insane to trust Leaf management and would only come to TO if he had full control... - aminnes
yeah that's a fair point. he's not coming to work for Dave Nonis that's for sure. |

yeah but they also added what...6 new players this season?
Halak
Grabovski
Kulemin
Boychuk
Leddy
Johnson
Grabner
Clutterbuck the season before - Lucas Neilson
this is EXACTLY what i am talking about
build your core 3 or 4 guys
then add more talent to them
dont bring the core in from elsewhere.. build that on your own |

but we also wouldnt have clarkson or have wasted a season with bolland
i agree grabo was overpaid
but by how much?
i mean poop, isles just gave him 5 mil for 4 years...
bottom line; leafs will never win the cup untril they have a bonified #1C
they will have to draft that person or pay an enourmous amount to get one who is young.
ROR is likely the only one i could see being traded at this point unless you can figure a way to fleece RNH out of EDM cause of their situation. |

Yup - and it all started with Tavares. Now how could the Leafs hope to get a stud prospect like that to develop and build around? Hmmmmmm |

he would survive those fights, suprising everyone!
he laid the biggest hit ever on Kapinen.

its plain as day
play what kids you have with vets just past their prime on cheap short contracts.. forget about trying to win for 3 or 4 years and LO.. all of a sudden you are building your contender |

I was surprised when they didn't want to pay McArthur 2.5 per after they had a really good year, totally weird... |

Agreed. I contest the Leafs will never have a superstar C to build around unless a bolt of lightning hits like Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Getzlaf type coup or they draft top 5.

@mirtle: Tyler Bozak's last 16 games are ugly stuff. Four even strength points (same as Holzer) and 36.8% possession. Ice cold after very hot start.

He was meh, hot and cold and easily removed from the puck. The only guy I would have kept is Kulemin IMO - he usually got the puck out of our end unlike a couple other wingers we have |
