Nuge plays first line min with Hall. Kadri plays second line min with who? Nuge has pedigree but if you look at all of the stats it's debatable with is the better player.
- MatzCT

Sure. Today Kadri might be more effective in his role than Nuge. I like to think once Nuge is Kadri's current age this won't be a debate, but I don't have a crystal ball.

RNH reminds me of datsyuk. Just makes great, subtle plays and is great defensively.
- rangerdanger94

that's the best comparison of rnh. has such quick hands, good at taking the puck off your stick without having to use his body

Yeah....I have no doubt RNH will be a top 10 or 15 Center in this league, but he is only 21, and I'm gonna shy away from comparisons for now.

I believe the Canes will clean house and free up cap space and sigh Marc Staal to play with Eric and Jordan. I don't think Marc will go to Edmonton for a couple of months as a rental in a trade fo Hall. It's not worth it for the Oilers. IMHO.

I just checked and Nuge is out producing Kadri this year as well. Kadri has played well recently, the Leafs have been winning recently and the Oilers are a last place team so I can understand the good press/bad press but it doesn't make it fact.
- Jeropotato

Eh, Kadri doesn't get the minutes RNH does or players.

Put Kadri with Kessel and watch-out.

the sad fact is that no team looks at hall and thinks, we're a top line left winger away from a cup, and we can spare a second line center, a top pairing defenseman, a starting goaltender and a first round pick. The return is going to be underwhelming from an Oilers fan's perspective if Hall does get moved. You might get one of those things, plus a prospect or two.

Is that a fact? I haven't poled the 29 other GM's yet.

Oh wait! We're expected to take HB posters opinions as this 'sad' fact. Gotcha.

Horrific trade for Edmonton.
- RogerRoeper

Yeah, that is silly. I don't blame NYR for asking, Hall is a great player on what is looking like an amazing contract.

Still Oilers don't need another 3-4 dman that might turn into a number 2. They need a legitimate 1-2 guy. Hall is a franchise player. He just needs more support other than the top line. Still even with the Oil doing terrible, Hall still seems to do good for points. Not many Rangers I would trade for Hall simply because of Halls age and none straight across.

The Oilers don't need prospects. Especially when Hall is still young. There is no reason for the Oilers to trade Hall, Eberle, Perron, Nail and RNH. You won't get real value for them and any trade made is not going to turn this season around. If you do move them, move them in the off season where their value will be up when people lose guys to UFA.

I say keep playing the guys you have and develop them. Worst case scenario the Oil pick top 5 in an amazing draft year.

But, then actually sign/trade for NHL defenders in the off-season.

Agreed. He tried with Ference, Fayne and Nikitin. Not many great players want to sign up here.
