Rangers and Oilers just aren't good trade partners. Our top goalie prospects are the perfect age to be ready to play in the NHL once Hank is close to the end of his career, we aren't deep in terms of defensive prospects so trading Staal is a no-go, and our center depth is extremely thin.

How about Kreider + Duclair + Skjei?

And because of that I think thy would need a top 6 FW, top 4 D, and a D or G prospect. No need for another FW prospect as they may end up with a top3 pick this yr and they will get that there.

And the only way the oil get a top 2 D man is if it's a one for one or one for D + prospect. And that won't sit well with their fans. Tough spot for the oilers. Galagher maxes out at 25 goals and he's small although a ton of heart. Beaulieu and tokarski also unproven.

We don't have a '15 1st and Skjei is compared to McDonagh. He's gonna be a stud and the Rangers even wanted him to go pro this year because they felt he would've won a spot on the roster straight out of camp but he declined. Hags is a forward that can provide take up some defensive responsibility.

It's a similar package to what got us Nash...2 roster players, a top defensive prospect, and a 1st. Except I think Kreids and Skjei's ceilings are higher than Dubi's, Anisimov's, and Erixon's.
