Edmonton doesn't need a pending UFA IMO, they need young talented players if Hall is in the picture. |

Horrific trade for Edmonton. |

I find that hard to believe because:
A) Staal is a pending UFA, and while you did mention there is a conditional pick based on whether Staal re-signs or not, I doubt EDM would deal Hall for most likely a 2 month rental and a mid to late 1st (hopefully), a 2nd, and another roster player
B) The Rangers are stacked on the wing with Nash, MSL, Zuccarello, Kreider, Duclair, Buchnevich, Haggerty all possessing top-6 ability and guys like Hagelin and Fast and Glass locking up spots in the bottom 6
C) The Rangers forfeit any chance they have at contending for a Cup this year by moving Staal
D) The Rangers are pretty thin in terms of defensive prospects outside of Skjei
I would think that if a deal were to happen, it would be centered around Skjei and Kreider. EDM gets a big, fast winger that can step into the top-6 to replace Hall immediately and get one of the top young defensive prospects in the game who projects to be a shutdown top pairing guy. |

Horrible trade for the oilers and although it would be an amazing trade for the Rangers, it is a marginal upgrade. Nash and Hall together would be franking scary though. This is complete BS as always... |

Amazing trade for the Rangers? By giving up one of our best defenders? Do you not remember how terrible the Islanders were for close to a decade because they had all offense and no defense? |

The rangers don't have a first round pick this year.
A pending UFA and a first in 2016? That's a complete nonstarter. Come on. - ghostofRC
Kreider + Hagelin + Skjei + 2016 1st for Hall
Let's do it. Right now. |

Listen up closely. Hall may be a whiny no heart no character player that I'd never want in my dressing room. However you can't deny that he has skill and he's young so he will get a high return. Everybody talks about Oilers Management being pathetic and a joke because they don't have defense. Can you imagine they trade their biggest asset for a defenseman and he leaves in the summer? C'mon now. He already had his hurricane sweater.
Wait! It's a conspiracy. Staal will go to Edmonton and provide "defense" and win games, pulling them ahead of the hurricanes allowing them to draft macdavid. Then Staal leaves to play with his brothers and macdavid in Carolina. Win win |

I agree none of it makes sense that trade would leave the oilers in an even worse spot then they currently are. Staal would leave at the end of the season and they'd be without a franchise player in hall. Also the oilers need a center they'd be asking for Stepan with Staal not kreider. Which isn't happening as the rangers aren't deep at center.

haha no they don't... they need quality NHL players that have been in the league for some years... young talented players got them in this mess!!!... don't ruin anymore young players by having them on the Oilers |

Depth, size, a two-way forward, a future top pairing defenseman, and a 1st round pick to add more depth. Yea, I'd say it does a nice job. |

WAY too much to give up for Hall in my opinion |

Not even close. Not surprised. You have a habit of over stating your scraps you are trying to pawn off. Much like Pens and Leafs fans. |

what are trade ideas that Oiler fans would like?... I wanna see if Oiler fans are more reasonable on this site. Every other site has the most absurd ideas for offers ever. |

Yeah let's trade a star talent for 3rd rounders a mid talent prospect and a 15th overall pick in a poopty draft. Freakin rag fans
While not just go for Chris Neil and Colin greening in Ottawa
And BtW, didn't you guys learn in the QUICK SCF that character wins championships? Hall has no character. Why do you want him anyways. You'd be better off keeping Kreider and knocking out all the starting goalies on the way to the finals. Tokarski, emery and fleury lol |

Two roster players, a prospect, and a 1st..it's not that bad.
Though you want that 1st to be '15 and he's overselling Brady big time... Hagelin is worthless in EDM though. |

Bottom line:
Hall is not getting traded.
If he or Eberle was the oilers get one of the following back:
1. A top pair defensemen. Today. Not some prospect maybe one day if the stars align will be a top pair guy. We have those.
2. A top 6 center. Again. Today.
3. A starting goaltender.
Any of these other rumours are pathetic attempts. |
