No. The have coveted a puck mover since Ray Bourque was traded. Krug stays otherwise that back end is slower than Flyfreaky's metabolism. - glove_was_stuck

I do find Kassian interesting. He has been on 2 soft teams so far. I think he would be a fit here in Boston with all the other goons that get away with everything.

I can see Chiarelli possibly going for Hendricks ('heavier-type' player) in Edmonton to help our 4th line. Kassian, Burrows or Higgins? I'd be pretty shocked to see those guys land in Boston as the 'solution' to the top line problem.
I like Krug and at times he can be a tough 'little' defender, but that's the problem; he's too little. I find he's losing more battles along the boards this year. But in the same breath, I'd hate to lose what he brings to our already weak offense. |

Correct me if I'm wrong but it was Hendricks we traded for Boychuk a number of years back? Also, I'd hate to see Krug leave too i think he brings quite a bit to the team

You're not wrong. I just think that 4th line doesn't have the identity (will it ever?) that it had in previous years. Hendricks probably doesn't make sense as he's signed for 2 more years @ almost 2 mill a year |

Didn't you guys steal a cross from his church and then burn it down.....?
Lucic needs to be "the guy" on a team.....give him a "A" or a "C" and I bet he matures three years.
I don't think it happens here in Boston....
BUT...
He would INSTANTLY change the culture of any team he is on.......it would be night and day.
That's why I think him going to the Oilers would be the best thing for all three parties......the Bs.....the Oilers.....and himself.....
He is a guy that young kids would look at and be like.........HOLY SHAT!!!.....that guy if fricken crazy and awesome......."I want to go out there and kill somebody too!"
I don't know if Van has what it would take to get him IMO.........he is way more valuable than E. Kane but slightly less valuable than T. Hall.........
But the "intangibles" he would give a team would motivate a team like crazy.......
In Boston there are TOO many guys in front of him and he can get away with being streaky........ - JIwasinskiJr

So what I read from Ty is really there will be ZERO upgrade on the 1st Line.
Stewart (Buff wants too much for a Power Forward with No Hands)
Kassian (a younger version of Stewart, take him if you cant get anyone else)
Burrows (your kidding right?)
Higgins (a less defensive Chris Kelly)
Oshie (cost you too much and is over-rated) Erikkson-Smith
Berglund (virtually know NOTHING about this guy)
Eberle & Hall (ya right)
Vermette (best friends with bergy in the off-season, 2nd line guy)
These prospects make me want to drink....... If the B's Brass is looking solely at these prospects then why bother ??

Let me explain.....
Milan Lucic is a much more valuable player than Evander Kane.....AND......not as value as Taylor Hall.
I would base that on the idea that if all three were up for trades the returns would be greatest for Hall, second greatest for Lucic and then would likely drop off significantly for Kane.
Just a hunch. |

So I think that the Bruins and Red Sox got together and decided to (frank) with there fan bases.......
The Red Sox are loading up on 3-5 pitchers and the Bruins are loading up on 3-4 liners........!
It's a great plan that will really confuse the rest of the league! |

well the Sox won 3 World Series in the last decade after almost 9 decades of nothing. the fans owe them some patience. not to mention that the moves they are making are very good.
also the Bruins have done quite well in last 5 years after one the darkest chapters (the 90's and early 2000's) in their history. they've totally changed the perception and culture of the team. are they off to a lousy start? sure. but you need to either get over it or at least trust they'll turn it around at some point. because they will. |
