I cant even think of trades that make sense for this TDL or leading up to it. I have ideas for the off season. I doubt the pressure is too high on Benning this season.... not enough to make him do stupid moves hurting the future.

Play it out... next season try and add a couple UFA's. A Dman and top 6 forward. Combine that with a couple of trades that secure the future like a selection from this group... Bieksa/Burrows/Miller/Higgins/Hansen

I'd be willing to part with these young players only if it were for youth/draft position upgrades.... Jensen/Kassian/Lack/Corrado/picks

I think trader Jim wont blow his load til draft day to be honest.

This is from episode 1 which is on youtube, so you can see the full video. Benning is on the fence in the other conversations. which happen earlier than this part, but everyone else wants to trade him

He constantly talks about young players which is good.

I've seen the first part as well(just watched it again to refresh my memory). He says that they'd prefer to keep the other core players, only thing he says is that they'd miss his speed...then he adds during the regular season. Seems like the room was agreement, but then again that's just after the edits and with the cameras are on, I'm sure there was more said in defense of Seguin from a few of the Bruins guys that they cut out.

Hilarious part is that they bring up that he doesn't fit fit into their system or doesn't battle hard enough and yet the players they wanted Eberle from EDM(multiple reports of this) and Eriksson from DAL are both not exactly the most gritty players, and yet lesser players than Seguin.

I'd trade Gaunce before Jensen or Kassian. I agree that there won't be a significant move made at this year's TDL, and the freakouts here will be hilarious as usual. I feel like guys reluctant to waive their NTC's are always more willing during the summer, especially those who are married and have kids.

I should have added Gaunce. I forgot.

I'm not into trading any of the young players obviously.

Glad to see 2nd round goalie prospect, Thatcher Demko has been progressing nicely so far this year.

I'm just not that high on Gaunce, I feel like his upside is a defensive 3rd line grinder type at best. He's not fast and not that physical. Smart player, but also limited offensively.I'd love to trade him for a defenseman prospect with top 4 upside.

Funny how people say Bieksa is high risk high reward. Seriously, I see the high risk part, but when has he ever been high reward?

Not unless he's playing most of his minutes with the Sedins, those are the only years he produced from what I remember. But to be fair, Edler's kinda been the same in terms of point production in recent years, but at least is playing decent defensively this year.

Canucks definitely lack a true PMD.

So taking all of this into consideration, is it fair to say Henrik is really the only Canuck player that makes other players better?

We have a serious skill shortage.

Nothing like having a prospect that is 6'2 210 and afraid to hit.

Half the team has been afraid to hit lately, even the Sedins were hitting a bit earlier in the season.

Gaunce will fit in beautifully.

High risk low reward.

Two years from now Bieksa will be a hockey tv personality. He has a gift for it off the ice. The camera is his enemy on the ice.

He doesn't have much of a shot, his passing is awful. He can kinda skate well, does an end to end rush once a year. He's tough in a fight, but is constantly out battled down low. Apart from his funny interviews, he really doesn't do much to help this team on the ice.

When Gaunce was in junior I pictured him one day being our 3rd line C. Now I'm thinking AHL player probably.

Oh man. Via @JonathanWillis, Oilers could have had Corey Perry and a first for Mike Comrie in '03, but Lowe got cute. http://bit.ly/1DIn2BU

Finally, we find something a GM did that was dumber than the Clarkson contract!!!

Scott Gomez trade has to be up there, at least since I've started following the NHL closely.

I think that was also dumber than the Clarkson trade. He may have the worst contract in the league (stick tap to A-Mac and Bolland), but at least all it cost us was cash...

Here is a wild idea.`Flyers have about 1.4 Mil in cap space. I am not sure how that would work but something like this.

1) Bieksa for Sanhiem and Canucks and Canucks keep 3.2 mil of KB salary this year and 2.5 next year and get a good top 10 6'3 RHD prospect

2) Pronger Sanheim for Bieksa . Canucks keep 3.2 of KB salary this year none next year

never mind #2 I just remembered cou cant trade an injured player
