Hall will not be coming to Pittsburgh, sorry to burst everyone's dream of having an elite winger at the cost of the rest of our team/future.

If anything we pick up a guy or two that are under the radar to most fans (tlustly)
Or maybe even pick up Perron for Dumoulin and 2nd. Dumoulin has proven he can play NHL and his ceiling is high. He is a big body with great speed and his value has only gone up since he came up a few games ago. The oilers are a complete dumpster fire so I can see them taking this trade. It's a good hockey trade for each team

The Penguins did score four goals in the victory but the game would have followed a completely different path had Fleury not made some really athletic saves in the first period. Tampa Bay dominated the first period and had little to show for it. Those saves bought time for the other Penguins skaters to shake off the cobwebs and get to business. -RW

Is this a compliment or a condescending remark? I honestly cant tell.

Also Weekes sang MAF's praises again last night on NHL tonight, evidently MAF is picking up positive momentum league wide.

I believe a compliment, but also saying that Fleury could not have kept up that level up save making throughout the game... but hell, who the hell can do that poop for near 40 shots like that.

Oh, and...

I truly believe that Kane takes both Maatta and Sutturd to get the deal done.

Then what would Hall take? As much as I love Maatta, I would do him and a mid pick for kane, nothing more

Easily will take those 2 plus some. Pens really don't have the assets to land a big name player, but rather a mid tier top 6 guy like tlusty, perron, etc...

Kane is a nice player but i don't think I'm adding Sutter to Maatta for him. He's scored more then 20 once. Plays physical with great speed but I'm not including Maatta in that package.

They absolutely have the assets. Do they want to spend them all to acquire someone is the question

Seeing how Maatta and Letang play together and how moody Letang is about the type of partner he needs to function properly, I would label Maatta untouchable for our #1 D man's sake. Martin won't be with us after this year, and I'm sure Tang and Hoff could play well together, but Maatta is such a known commodity. I love Evander Kane, but I'm not packaging Olli.

If we could get a dialogue going involving Derrick Pouliot however... I don't understand why everyone thinks Pouliot should be untouchable. We have Letang locked up long term on a fine contract, we don't need another Letang as much as we need wingers. The only argument I get is people not wanting to sell low on a potential star and wanting to get him to the show in order to showcase his ability and raise his value before shipping him off. That I understand and support. However, if Pouliot isn't traded within the next three years I will be thoroughly surprised and somewhat pissed off at our asset management.

I remember complaining at the beginning of the season about the fact that Root doesn't broadcast WBS Pens games on nights when the Pens aren't playing. I guess I should be careful what I wish for - they practically are broadcasting the WBS Pens now .

Also, I know that Nabokov is no longer an NHL starter but if he can't stop a Dumoulin shot from the point he probably shouldn't even be in the NHL anymore. Nice win for the Pens, though, thanks primarily to Fleury.

I'm not sure if I'd call him untouchable, but I think that as with any team, it would take A LOT to get their "best" prospect from them.

If he is another Letang, that is a great problem to have, and I don't see why it would be a problem to keep him long term.

I would like to keep him for at least another season to see what we have... if he looks like he will be a legit great defenseman, keep him... If he has some flaws, but is still good with the puck, then move him. He would still have good value (see Alex Goligoski).

I think Nabokov sucks, but that shot was deflected by his defenseman's skate and changed direction a good bit.

If Pouliot is a legit future star, my plan with him would be to hold onto him until he proves that he's a stud and then trade him for a king's ransom. We already have a #1 puckmoving defenseman, but our forward depth is atrocious. If Pouliot in three years could fetch us a top 6 forward, a nice forward prospect, and a pick, I don't see how the Pens with all of their depth on D could say no to that.

Why get rid of sutter, maatta and another prospect. This has no written all over it. Maybe Maatta, prospect not named pouliot, 2nd and next years third is about all I would be willing to throw out there if I was GMJR. We need sutter. He plays third/second center/winger. He's more valuable than we think and he is proving it this season. We can't ship offense out for more offense. Is the jump from Sutter to Hall worth losing one of our best dmen in maatta and a high prospect?

Keep in mind this will destroy our depth, Goc will be #rd C. That is a huge drop off from sutter. No argument there. No maatta and dumoulin (meaning we will have to play harrington or pouliot to see if they are capable of playing with the big leagues the whole season)

We are fine. I would rather look at Perron for dumoulin and a pick or two

Please don't kid yourself the jump in production from Sutter to Hall is significant. And Dumolin doesn't get you Perron unless that pick or 2 is a1st

If sutter plays second line he can produce higher numbers than he is. Not saying Hall wouldn't produce more, but is it worth it do kill the bottom 6 to strengthen the top 6? We finally have good depth when healthy and now everyone wants to trade it away for a top winger. Crosby and geno are going to produce and make the others around them produce as well. Maybe not as much as Hall could, but I would rather have 4 lines than 2. Ring a bell penguins fans? Oh and losing maatta would be big too don't forget that.

Dumoulin plus a 2nd and next years 3rd. Dumoulin has done nothing but up his value since he has been called up. Not sure if you knew this but perron has only scored 50+ points twice in his career. He's a good top 6 winger but he is not as good as everyone makes him out to be. I wouldn't do perron for sutter straight up

I'd do that. Dumo and a 1st for Perron. I'd see if Dumo and a 3rd can get us Tlusty first. It makes no sense to me to part with all the players needed to get Hall, Eberly or Kane. Even more, I don't think it's necessary. Especially with the way some of these guys are proving they can step up.
