Personally I consider Hamilton an untouchable. Who knows what the Bruins staff think, they traded Seguin for (frank) sakes. Also Lucic is held in high regards by the staff as well, if nothing else but to sell merch.
Subban should be in play though. Also Hall is a great player. Top five scoring potential but he's reckless as (frank) and gets injured a lot.
I'm sure Philly or the Rangers will overpay for him. - Cape Breton Bruins
Hall is untoucheable , yet you think Krug and Marchand will get him?

Culture is soo sooo soo overrated.
Can you name 5 teams in the last 10 years (5 out of 300 teams) that were derailed primarily by bad culture? Even if you can, how many were playoff calibre teams that were derailed by bad culture?
It always seems like "bad culture" is something untalented rosters have. |

Point being that you have to deal one of your prized assets to get help elsewhere on your team. Obviously this core you have is historically bad. I'm not saying the Leaf proposal was good that guy suggested. I just laugh when I see everyone on here laugh at every proposal. - GaryLazerEyes

I don't think players that get 50+ points are the reason we blow.
Try again tho. - Oilers4Life14
Complete lack of defensive concepts by the forward and defensive groups alike factor in. As well as overall work ethic. They need some better direction from a veteran coach and work their asses off to find success in the west. |

Does that fix the oilers?
Because I feel like in trading Hall, you'd want to go a long way towards fixing the Oilers. - Morris

It's not value its more fit. We need a more experienced D and a bigger C. Value may be there though not a fit. - Oilfan19
We dont have any big centers and we just drafted a beautiful Swedish girl.
Do you want Franson?... Or maybe Dion.. He was born in Edmonton you know. |

It comes down to being every convo being. "Reimer and a 2nd for Hall, cause our backup goalie is way better than your current situation and you have to overpay to get.." |

Philadelphia in the Richards era stands out for me but not too many besides that. |

Do you feel Reilly Kadri and a 1st is not enough for Hall?
Becuase frankly I think it's too much on the Leafs end. - Lee Denault
Reilly and Kadri are fine players, and I'm sure the 1st rounder would be too, but it doesn't do anything to help the Oilers. |

bad culture is something you are labeled when you lose. Case and point Leafs lose 3 games in a row and the culture/core is in question.
Yet they win 9 and a row and they have amazing chemistry.
The word chemistry also pisses me off, when is the last team you've seen a bad team be labeled a team with 'good chemistry'
chemistry comes with W's, that's it. |

Phagoof would instantly be our best defenceman, as well as add some accountability and grit to the backend. Not for Hall though. |

Or you may find it funny to laugh at everyone's proposals hoping that the Oil will magically turn it around at some point. How inept is your front office that they screw up having that many 1st overall picks? Embarrassing.

The thing is that we never really know because we aren't on the team, and we actually have no clue about the true "culture". Also, it can't be measured. But that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Look at the Red Wings, how do you think they always have good teams? Their culture breeds success, you can't deny that. And this doesn't just apply to the players, it applies to the coaches, the gm, the scouts, the training staff, everyone. |
