Look at how good the Islanders got after they acquired Boychuk and Leddy. Hamhuis is better than both those guys and Tanev is a very solid and underrated defenseman. Horvat is that 2C you need and Kassian is just a great depth guy to have.

Maybe someday, but not yet. Also, Hamhuis' contract runs out after next year. What are the chances he stays. How much better is Tanev than Petry or does he merely look better cause he's played on his whole career with some combination of Hamhuis, Edler, Bieksa, Garrisson, and Salo around him?

so Boychuk who has a NTC and didn't want to leave the East and Leddy who wasn't being shopped to the West traded to the only eastern team that could easily absorb there combined cap hits.

Its not like the Islanders had to try that hard to get them, they were gift wrapped to them if they were willing to part the price to acquire both

Oddly enticing, but I'd explore other options before accepting. The deal doesn't definitively cover our need for a #1 Dman (potentially does) and nor does it fill our need for a talented two-way C. It doesn't even upgrade our goaltending. It needs to fill at least one of those holes.

Okay. I was exaggerating to make a point. Thing is, he is a top line winger and they are not that easy to come by. The Oil need dmen and both Tanev and Hamhuis are my favorite of the canucks. I also like Horvat. I just don't think they will trade a player they have built a team around. In all honesty it would be hard to say no to given the Oilers need for a guy like Hamhuis.

A job is a job man and we all are responsible for the career choices we make, except for those people who get kidnapped and sold into the sex trade like in "Taken", they didn't chose. Some people actually enjoy barista-ing, and you will see a lot of dumb as (frank) people working for bell too.

I just don't think they move Hall unless its for a true established top pairing guy. Myers would be on their top pairing but across the league, is he that stud teams want to build around? IF he really is why would you guys want to move him. I just don't think hes the Dman that temps them in a Hall deal.
