Well if Eakins says the best player on the team is uncoachable then trade him. He would have no reason to make it up. I remember other coaches saying Hall had a never lose attitude. At his prices, I think they will keep him for a while. At least till his value goes up.

on the bright side, in june EDM gets a new game breaking centre toy and I don't have to waste time or money on the oilers anymore

We are talking about a guy that has what looks to be a good contract for a few years and is still really young. He is an elite winger. I don't think they would trade him anyways. I think it was just a coach trying to excuse his failure. Right now he is the best player on the team.

That's basically a pretty decent NHL first pairing, a projected 2LC with a strong two-way game, and a 3rd line winger with some size, grit and skill that can stir poop up. Far from an easy no.

Okay. I was exaggerating to make a point. Thing is, he is a top line winger and they are not that easy to come by. The Oil need dmen and both Tanev and Hamhuis are my favorite of the canucks. I also like Horvat. I just don't think they will trade a player they have built a team around. In all honesty it would be hard to say no to given the Oilers need for a guy like Hamhuis.
